a US-based ride-share network, is expanding its global capabilities after announcing an international


partnership with Asian companies Grab Taxi and Ola. Grab Taxi is a smartphone booking and dispatch platform based in Singapore, while Ola serves as India’s equivalent.


Luton airport’s


multimillion pound expansion plans will help bring £1 billion annually to the UK economy and create more than 10,000 jobs, a study from Oxford Economics has found. The airport is investing £110 million in redevelopment, with completion scheduled by 2020.


Marlin Apartments


has announced partnerships with Sky and Maxxton. The deals means the serviced apartment operator will install Sky TV across all of its six London properties in a five-year deal, and will adopt Maxxton’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Hospitality group Amaris


is to invest £5.6 million in the rebranding and refurbishment of the Waterfront hotel in Brighton. The 210-room property, situated near Brighton pier, will become Jurys Inn Brighton Waterfront – the second Jurys Inn hotel in the city.


NORWEGIAN AIR SHUTTLE


has raised Ð125 million through a bond issue. The money raised will go towards “general corporate purposes” and to support the future growth of the group. Earlier in 2015, the airline issued a similar-sized bond in Norwegian krona. The latest funding will help towards the purchase of 19 B787-9 Dreamliners which are scheduled for delivery from 2017 to 2020.


VIRGIN TRAINS


East Coast has added new services from Sunderland and Stirling to London. The routes are part of Virgin’s plans to transform services on its east coast route, which includes a £21 million overhaul of its fleet of 45 trains.


WINGS TRAVEL MANAGEMENT


is expanding operations into the Saudi Arabian market. The TMC, which specialises in the oil and gas sector, is planning to open an office in Saudi Arabia early this year. Wings said the new office will help strengthen its presence in the region, enabling staff to provide more localised support to Wings’ oil and gas clients.


Carlson Rezidor


has added a property in Nairobi. The 271-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, is located in the city’s business district and is 20 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International airport.


INTERCONTINENTAL


Hotels Group (IHG) has opened Intercontinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel. The historic 130-room property is IHG’s fifth Intercontinental- branded hotel in France.
