New managing director appointed
On 1 May, Fred Zülli handed over the title of managing director of Mibelle Biochemistry after 30 years to Cornelia Schürch, previously head of Development & Compliance. Fred will take on his new role of business development director. He will focus on the development of new active concepts and ensure Mibelle Biochemistry’s continuous growth in all areas. Cornelia joined Mibelle
Biochemistry in 2002. She graduated as a food engineer in 1998 from ETH Zurich. In 2002 she completed her PhD thesis in the
laboratory of food microbiology, just before she joined the Mibelle Biochemistry team as scientific
assistant in product development. From 2003 on, she led the product development department, followed by the regulatory and compliance department in 2007. Since 2011 she has acted as
vice business manager of Mibelle Biochemistry and completed her EMBA in 2013. Cornelia has been contributing with her knowledge and innovation skills to the business unit over the last few years. Furthermore, Cornelia has acted as Fred’s deputy with the objective of getting a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of business unit.
Emollients on show at in-cosmetics Korea
For its debut appearance in in-cosmetics Korea, KLK Oleo will showcase a series of emollients: Palmester Pentaerythritol Tetraisostearate, Palmester Isopropyl Isostearate, Palmester Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Palmester Triethylhexanoin and Palmester Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate. These fatty ester emollients are ideal for heat sensitive personal care formulations. They are widely used in the formulation of colour cosmetics, bath oil, skin and hair care, which enable superior odour and colour end-products and
inflammation, brighten the skin, and upregulate COLI and COLIII genes to stimulate collagen production. This multifunctional efficacy enables formulators to use fewer ingredients and allows multiple applications, such as anti-ageing, anti-pollution, UV ray protection, and skin brightening/ lightening. KLK Oleo will feature sample
exhibit excellent skin feel without the feel of greasiness. KLK Oleo will also introduce its
natural bioactive– DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols. DavosLife E3 provides skin antioxidant protection, reduce
formulations for skin brightening and UV plus blue light protection at the show. They will also feature a Tasting Bar, where visitors can sample a collagen-boosting drink featuring DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols.
Investment in new Innovation Hub
Lake Chemicals & Minerals has invested £500,000 in a new Innovation Hub in the UK. The new site, a short distance from Lake’s manufacturing base, offers integrated R&D and hub office facilities with meeting rooms and social entertaining area for employees and customers. Lake’s managing director Steven
