COMPANY PROFILE GOBIOTICS BV
At Gobiotics, innovation is the cornerstone of our journey, driving us to redefine the future of cosmetics. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, with a resolute commitment to developing cosmetics ingredients that are completely free from microplastics. Our two pillars: sustainability and prebiotics. Replacing Microplastics so we do not miss them anymore The official definition of microplastics is: “fragments of any plastic-type that is less than 5 mm”. These fragments are insoluble and non-biodegradable. The Plastic Soup Foundation has an even stricter definition of microplastics. They have no fragment size limit, and they include all non-biodegradable ingredients. Gobiotics supports this important shift in environmental-friendly ingredients and meets the customer’s dream by developing affordable microplastic-free alternatives:
■ Gosulin Hold and Gosulin Style PVP is the most popular styling polymer. Alternatively, PVP-VA or acrylate polymers are used. These styling polymers all have in common that they are considered microplastic. Gosulin Hold and Gosulin Style are two hair-styling polymers that replace and outsmart traditional microplastic polymers. Gosulin Hold consists of Agavins, Graminans, and Cellulose gum. Gosulin Style consists of agave inulin mixed with polysaccharides obtained through fermentation and upcycling. Gosulin Hold and Gosulin Style give the hair an excellent hold, flexibility, natural hair feel, hydration, and, curl retention. Together, these ingredients are unstoppable. Risoline TC Although cationic ingredients are very effective in treating (damaged) hair, it is difficult to find compatible stabilizers/thickeners, let alone microplastic-free ingredients. Risoline™ TC is a natural thickener, derived from rice. Risoline™ TC is compatible with all the cationic ingredients. On top of that, Risoline™ TC improves the hair feel and hair look.
■ Inutec SL1 Inutec SL1, a sensorial emulsifier, still stabilizes emulsions when all other options are failing. Inutec SL1 is a polysaccharide emulsifier. Replacing microplastics is challenging. How do you keep that amazing texture? Fortunately, Inutec SL1 improves the skin feel of emulsions. Inutec SL1 mimics the light feel of cyclomethicone. Moreover, Inutec SL1 reduces the soaping of the formulation. So, Inutec SL1 elegantly stabilizes the formulation.
■ Gosulin S750 ECO Gosulin S750 ECO consists of square-shaped particles that are hard enough to exfoliate, but mild enough to offer comfort to the skin. This scrub is completely derived from rice. It has a similar performance compared to traditional scrubs, it is suitable for high-end cosmetics and mass-market products, and finally, it has now a positive impact on our earth.
