COMPANY PROFILE Omya

FUTURE-PROOF INGREDIENTS IN HARMONY WITH NATURE Omya International AG is headquartered in Oftringen, Switzerland. With over 130 years of expertise, the company’s portfolio of natural minerals is produced in accordance with the most stringent sustainability, quality and regulatory standards. With further speciality ingredients, Omya guarantees added value products from responsibly sourced materials that meet the needs of present and future generations. A breakthrough delivery format for cosmetic actives are Cosmospheres® cellulosic beads. When filled with liquid or

powdered agents such as coloured, freshening or warming substances, the beads – made from microcrystalline cellulose, lactose or mannitol – swell to form a cell-like structure. This prevents the loaded content from mixing and interfering with the rest of the formula. Only when water is added, will the beads get soft and spreadable. Once slight shear forces are applied, the active is smoothly and efficiently released, for maximum benefit and sensory appeal, and leaves no residues. The aesthetically pleasing beads are perfectly suited to hair, face, body and oral care applications, as well as hygiene products. These include moisturising oils, sensory agents for cooling or warming sensations, vitamins and fragrances. They provide efficient results while being far gentler on the environment, as they are created only from natural ingredients which are free from microplastic, preservatives and solvents. Unique minerals such as Omyacare®, Omyaskin® and Omyadent® are made for inclusion in skincare, color cosmetic and

oral care products. They simultaniously ease processing and optimise characteristics of the end product. Thanks to high purity and controlled low microbiology, particles reduce interactions to a minimum and allow for a longer shelf life. Bright white and Ecocert certified Omyacare® particles sourced from natural calcium carbonate can be used as cleansing

agents in various applications. Different grades adjust abrasiveness, colour, viscosity and texture for finished products such as soap, tooth tabs and handwash tabs. Matching requirements of all color cosmetic applications, the innovative mineral of Omyaskin® offers multiple benefits for soft focus effects and enhanced color strength. When used in tooth tabs, Omyacare® combined with Omyadent® particles provide the desired level of abrasion as well as remineralization effect. And when compacted into toothtabs, Omyadent’s structure with many interlocking contact points ensures – besides a strong remineralisation effect - greater strength and stability.
