In January 2023, Las Vegas Sands announced it would be undertaking a massive redevelopment project around the Nassau Coliseum with RXR Realty. Dubbed Nassau Hub, this miniature city on 72 acres would feature a a $6bn integrated resort including a casino, four- and five-star hotel rooms, outdoor space, and a live performance venue.
Las Vegas Sands's plan to build a $6bn casino and resort complex on Long Island took a major step forward after a vote in August green lighting the operator to manage the Nassau Coliseum and its surrounding area, known as the Nassau Hub, in a 42-year lease agreement.Te legislature was not specifically considering the proposed casino plan when it voted, as the company still needs to obtain a state license to conduct gaming. However, the vote is a necessary step toward getting additional approvals.
