WIDESPREAD WAYS OF E-COMMERCE PAYMENTS


Based on the date from more than 100 online stories in the Serbian eCommerce market, cash on delivery dominates the Serbian eCommerce market with an impressive 83.9% penetration rate in 2023. VISA and Mastercard follow closely behind with penetration rates of 72.3% and 69.6% respectively. Invoice payments from unknown providers secure a significant portion of the market with a 65.2% penetration rate, while American Express lags behind at 42.9%.

Te undeniable Serbians’ favourite type of payment is prepaid cards. Tis payment method covers 76% of the whole market, while credit cards come with 13%, mobiles with 8%, e-wallets with 2%, and bank transfer with 1% of the market share.


As for the popular payment services, there are three the most applicable solutions to facilitate mobile and prepaid payments: Mobiano, ApplePay and MINT.


INTERNET COMMUNICATION BY POPULATION


Facebook was the leading social media website in Serbia in 2023, with around 80% of market share compared to other social media sites. Instagram ranked second with a nearly 13% share of social media site visits, with Twitter at 2,5%, Pinterest at 2%, and YouTube at 1%.
