AGEM INDEX
The AGEM Index increased by 50.33 points to 1,552.59 in September 2024, a 3.4 per cent increase from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the index rose 47.1 per cent, or 496.89 points. During the latest month, six of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases, which resulted in six positive contributions and six negative contributions. The largest positive contributor was Aristocrat Leisure, whose 7.1 per cent increase led to a 53.66-point gain to the index. Meanwhile, Konami saw its stock price increase by 10.7 per cent, leading to a 43.16-point gain. The largest negative contribution to the index was sourced to Light & Wonder, whose 17.4 per cent decrease in stock price resulted in a 35.17-point loss to the Index.
AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, lotteries and components for the gaming industry. The Association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world. Through political action, tradeshow partnerships, information dissemination and good corporate citizenship, the members of AGEM work together to create benefits for every company within the organisation. Together, AGEM and its member organisations have assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a positive business environment.
AGEM SEPTEMBER 2024 RECAP
1 Due to the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, there was not a monthly gathering for October 2024. Te next monthly AGEM meeting will take place via Zoom on November 12, 2024, at 8:00 am PST.
2 At G2E, AGEM enjoyed supporting and meeting with its members and friends, culminating in the presentation of its 2024 Memorial Awards on the afternoon of September 9 in the G2E Networking Lounge. AGEM proudly recognized two industry leaders, Steve Sutherland with the Jens Halle Memorial Award Honoring Excellence in Commercial Gaming Professionalism and Lori Nelson- Kraft with the Peter Mead Memorial Award Honoring Excellence in Gaming Media & Communications. Congratulations again to Steve and Lori, as our industry appreciates their longstanding and continued contributions to gaming.
3 AGEM was able to similarly support industry initiatives during Responsible Gaming Education Month in September. AGEM proudly sponsored and presented at the European Conference on Gambling Studies and Policy Issues
(EASG) and its 2024 Conference, "Fostering a Safer Gambling and Betting Future" in Rome, Italy during the week of September 10. AGEM also hosted a webinar, "Better Together – Uniting Stakeholders in RG" on September 17 with a panel of experts, Jennifer Shatley, Keith Whyte, Ian Shanahan and Alan Feldman. AGEM appreciates and salutes Connie Jones for her continued leadership and advocacy on responsible gaming initiatives.
FORTHCOMING EVENTS
1 AGEM has a number of events scheduled for the fall and winter, including the AGEM - GGW Leadership Training Day on November 1, 2024 at BlackFire Innovation in Las Vegas, the AGEM Holiday Reception November 20, 2024 at Proprietor's Reserve in Las Vegas from 5:00–8:00 pm, the annual AGEM McMonigle Cup Golf Tournament on December 11, 2024 at Bears Best Golf Club in Las Vegas and the AGEM Networking Reception at ICE on January 18, 2025 from 4:00–7:00 pm (local time) at the Almanac Hotel Rooftop Terrace Bar in Barcelona, Spain.
