Te Government of Pere Aragonès and the Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC) reached an agreement that allows the approval of the government’s budget for this year. Te agreement consists of two documents: one 26 page document covers the budgetary measures while another three page document includes the commitments to promote “major infrastructure of the country” that the PSC put forward as a condition for their approval of the budget. Tese include the Hard Rock project as well as other major infrastructure projects which will lead to jobs.
According to the document, the Vila-seca and Salou project will go ahead “after final approval of the Urban Development Plan”. In addition, the government laid out its plans to “maintain the availability of the land by the company, as a step prior to the evolution of the project.”
Salvador Illa, First Secretary of the PSC is one of the main supporters of the project since the party expects it to generate “more than a billion euros of investment and more than 13,000 jobs, generating consensus between the social and economic agents, and the municipalities of the area.”

France Bagnères-de-Luchon to reopen in 2024/25
Bagnères-de-Luchon wants to reopen its casino in 2024 or 2025. Te municipality of Bagnères-de- Luchon, in the French region of Haute-Garonne, has launched a sourcing procedure for casino operators interested in reopening the casino there, which has been shut since 2011.
Tis phase of preliminary exchanges takes place before a public service delegation procedure (DSP), which will then entrust the construction and operation of the establishment to a private operator.
Gilles Toniolo, first deputy mayor of Luchon, said: “Te reopening of the casino is one of the primary concerns of the Luchonnais, after their health. It is part of the splendor and renewal of Luchon. We waited to award the operation of the thermal baths to the Arenadour group on January 1, 2023 to fully embark on the reopening of the casino, which
belongs to the heritage of Luchon.”
“We would like to carry out a deliberation as to the awarding of the concession notice in the second quarter of 2023. And we are planning to start operating the casino in 2024, or 2025 at the latest. Te casino will be located in the original location, which is historic, emblematic and of definite architectural interest. Tis place is spacious and beautiful. It is obvious to us. In addition, the volumes of the place make it possible to reopen the casino, theatre, seminar rooms and catering area.
After the closure of the casino in 2011, the operator having been put into liquidation, and then an unsuccessful takeover, the municipality thought it had found a new operator in June 2016 after signing an 18-year public service delegation with the French company of casinos (SFC), who later withdrew from the project.
