Shalini Kolling Human Resources Manager, Casino Cosmopol, Sweden

“I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the EDP. This opportunity further confirms the fact that my employer truly believes in me and genuinely works

towards establishing a diverse workplace in the gaming industry. This feeling has

existed since my first working day at Casino Cosmopol in Sweden and has continuously been confirmed.” Shalini Kolling

Jan Pecha: I believe the EDP was very valuable. I appreciated the option to take part made possible by the ECA Scholarship. I believe that the skills I have gained during the EDP will increase my value within the company and in my future career.

How does your participation in the EDP positively impact diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry?

Darko Devic: Diversity and inclusion are very important for companies that want to achieve better results. Te EDP helped me to recognise how diversity is really valuable. Te inclusion of diverse members of our EDP team meant that we were more effective and quicker to respond and react, because every member of the team imparted their knowledge to achieve an amazing result.

Joanna Petit: Women in the gaming industry are usually corralled into services like HR, Accounts and Marketing.

Darko Devic Table Games Manager, Casino Mond, Slovenia

“The scholarship from the ECA helped me to acquire new knowledge in the fast- changing environment that is the modern gaming industry. I’m very grateful to ECA for the scholarship, which has given me the opportunity to further progress my career. I think every manager should participate in the EDP.” Darko Devic

I am a young woman from the casino floor. I took the traditional route to management via dealing, and today, in operations, I am in direct contact with all our staff and casino guests. Is that not the most positive way to impact diversity and inclusion in this industry? I am very grateful to the Executive Development Programme and I shall pass on the knowledge I have learned to make my casino an even better experience for our guests.

Jan Pecha: I was very surprised by the fact that diversity is a worldwide problem. In Slovakia, our government mandates equal rights for everyone, as testified by the current President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Caputova. In my company, I have many female managers. However, across the world this problem needs attention and permanent action. I believe the best way always start with us. I am committed to the elimination of unequal rights.

Shalini Kolling: I hope the European Casino Association continues to believe in lifting its members to contribute to a diverse workplace. Where there is a will, there is a way. And I am an example of that ideology. Once again, thank you for the opportunity!
