ECA Fully Supportive of New ICE Dates

Te European Casino Association has confirmed its backing of the new ICE London show dates after its postponement to April.

Te European Casino Association has given its full backing to the ICE London show at ExCeL after the event was postponed until April 12-14.

UK EXHIBITIONS

Te European Casino Association (ECA) has confirmed its support for April’s rearranged edition of ICE London, describing the event as an “opportunity to bring together the land- based casino sector after a prolonged period of absence.” Te ECA is the latest high profile organisation that has confirmed its support and joins AGEM and the UK-based Gambling Business Group in confirming its support.

ECA Chairman Per Jaldung, confirmed: "Te ECA supports the decision of Clarion Events to postpone the London show to April in order to ensure that it is everything we expect from an ICE expo. ICE London 2022 is an opportunity to reunite the gaming industry after two years apart and we respect the flexibility and responsible decision making shown by Clarion in moving forward the show to avoid yet another wave of Covid uncertainty. We look forward to welcoming back the international community to London, and trust in Clarion Events, as the custodians of ICE, to deliver another successful edition in Spring 2022."

ECA Secretary General, Hermann Pamminger, added: “Te response of show organisers, Clarion Events, to the rising tide of new Covid infections, is both sensible and practical in the face of the logistical challenges visitors and

exhibitors would undoubtedly face in February. We applaud the clarity and early decision making and look forward to celebrating the return of the show.”

Stuart Hunter, Managing Director, Clarion Gaming believes the support of leading organisations such as the ECA is indicative of a wider desire for the industry to come together at ICE London and the co-located iGB Affiliate London. He said: “Our primary aim has always been to provide a safe and secure environment for our customers to meet and to do business. When it became clear that February did not provide the confidence the industry required in terms of Omicron we worked through the Christmas break in partnership with the team at ExCeL London to secure new dates for our co- located events that host over 700 exhibitors.

“Whilst we have been really encouraged by the feedback that we have received we also appreciate that the new dates will not suit everyone. However, rescheduling events the size of ICE London and iGB Affiliate London is a complex logistical and operational challenge. As I have previously stated, the team at Clarion Gaming will continue to work through any remaining challenges with our clients and support them with their preparations.”

Italy Campione d’Italia reopened its doors in January

Te Campione d’Italia Casino reopened its doors on January 26, having been closed for 1,279 days. Marco Ambrosini, CEO of the Casinò di Campione, said: “On January 26 Casino di Campione opens with an ‘All in one Touch’ formula that allows you to enter the gaming rooms, play, participate in the numerous promotions on offer and all the new technology with a simple quick touch.”

Te area that houses the latest generation slot machines has been renovated, while all the spaces inside the casino have been reimagined to ensure the right spacing and safety from the point of view of the pandemic.

Mr. Ambrosini added: “Te large spaces of the Casinò di Campione are among the few

casinos able to maintain distances between guests that the pandemic has unfortunately forced upon us. Customers can play and have fun whilst remaining safe.

“Te goal at Campione d’Italia is to offer entertainment across the board and to propose large events, art exhibitions, luxury commercial spaces. Dedicated areas previously reserved for casino activities will be handed over to new activities and new proposals that are emerging. We are still an Italian Champion, loved by thousands of visitors, but the atmosphere is now different,” stated Mr. Ambrosini. “Te casino should have reopened already on New Year’s Eve, with a big party postponed due to Covid, but this really looks like the right time.”

France

Te municipal council of Bourbonne-les-Bains (Haute- Marne) has passed casino operating duties to the Joa Groupe, which bought out the last operator, the Emeraude Group, in July 2019. Joa is responsible for the management and operation of the casino within the spa resort, starting this June. Te request for authorisation to operate games as a delegate issued by the Société du Casino de Bourbonne, which belongs to the Joa group, was unanimously accepted by the elected officials. Tis concession will be effective from June 7, 2022, for a period of 15 years. Te Bourbonne- les-Bains casino, operated by the Joa group, rose to 161st position in the casino rankings in 2018-2019 and a GGR of €3.44m.

UK – Simon Thomas, owner of the London Hippodrome Casino, has backed the return of ICE London describing the show’s April dates as being an important opportunity for the recovery and growth of the land-based gaming sector.

He confirmed: “I've missed the opportunity to meet industry figures and colleagues in person when the real conversations happen.” Referencing the spread of the Omicron variant which led to the identification of new dates later in the Spring he confirmed: “London has led the charge against Covid and restrictions have been lowered. It’s vital we now focus on returning to rebuilding the industry and ICE London is a great chance to do that. I look forward to seeing everyone there."

Stuart Hunter, Managing Director, Clarion Gaming said: “I’m delighted that the market we serve is eager and committed to get the show back on the road. The senior team has worked tirelessly with our colleagues at ExCeL London to find alternative dates for what is one of the most successful and biggest in-person business events held in the UK which in conjunction with the co-located iGB Affilate London comprises more than 700 gaming industry exhibitors. Securing new dates has been a mammoth task and involved migrating six other events to enable ICE to have the entirety of ExCeL which is required to operate at full capacity.”

UK – Blueprint Gaming has secured a new agreement with licence holder and long-term partner, Banijay Brands. The developer will continue to create content around TV game show format, Deal or No Deal, with the next instalment, Deal or No Deal: Banker’s Bonanza, set for release in February.

Following the success of a number of titles based on Banijay’s Deal or No Deal IP for the UK market, the games studio is set to make additional versions available in Canada for its equivalent show, Le Banquier. Lauren Bradley, Head of Commercial at Blueprint Gaming, commented: “The Deal or No Deal brand is a huge part of Blueprint’s overall identity and content offering, so we’re delighted to have secured this new agreement with Banijay Brands.”

UK – DAZN Group announced that Shay Segev is now the sole CEO of DAZN Group. Shay joined DAZN in June 2021, having formerly been the CEO of Entain.

Shay has a track record in scaling digital consumer businesses, which will be indispensable as DAZN expands its customer offering to include interactive and engaging content for fans to enjoy alongside its sports streaming service.
