G3 INSIGHT EUROPEAN CASINO ASSOCIATION Quick Learners
Executive Development Programme 2021
The thought leaders behind the original Executive Development Programme (EDP) pivoted their
approach to executive education in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing easy access
to a leadership community in need by offering online tuition.
Te programme’s change to online participation enabled the European Casino Association, which has supported the EDP via its Diversity Scholarship, sponsored by AGEM, Clarion and the UNLV International Gaming Institute, to put forward a record-breaking four candidates in 2021. G3 took the opportunity to interview each of the participants following the successful completion of the week- long programme.
Te Executive Development Programme is a five-day intensive course examining key issues in the gaming industry: sustaining competitive advantage, responding to political uncertainties, managing organizational change, developing strategic alliances and adapting to the rules of a new playing field in the continually evolving gaming industry. EDP is taught by industry experts who position participants to meet to current and future challenges and opportunities for their gaming organisations. In the past 30 years, the programme has graduated more than 1,500 executives and senior managers from companies and regulatory agencies worldwide.
"Tis ‘special edition’ of EDP emerged from brainstorms from our best champions: our EDP alumni, who now run operations and tech companies all over the world,” commented Bo Bernhard, Executive Director, UNLV International Gaming Institute and EDP Moderator. “Tey noted that we remain in a ‘post-traumatic’ period, and that leadership is particularly crucial during a time when things are still difficult. We can promise that attendees will graduate from EDP prepared to lead in all crises imaginable – and some they would never have imagined.”
Bernhard was joined in leading the programme by renowned industry thought leaders and mentors to the second EDP Presents class: Alan Feldman, Distinguished Fellow, UNLV International Gaming Institute; Longtime Gaming Executive, MGM Resorts International; and Holly Gagnon, President, HGC Hospitality Gaming Consulting; Distinguished Fellow, UNLV International Gaming Institute; Chairperson, Artemis Strategic Investment Corp.
