David, what's your remit at ReferOn?
My remit is as an implementation manager or tech lead. I have more of a client-facing role than my colleague Vladyslav ‘Vlad’ Bondarenko, who is more involved with the product development team. I handle more of the relationships, demos and implementations. I first joined the iGaming industry when relocating to Malta in 2016 and prior to that I worked at a software company in London.
Why such a long job title?
Good question and I’m not sure! But as Affiliate Program Technical Team Lead and with Vlad as Product Manager, this means our skill sets complement each other nicely. I am more client-facing, while Vlad develops and manages the ReferOn product. When combined, our different backgrounds have delivered a modern affiliate management platform that we believe is more powerful than what has been produced before.
Could you tell us more about ReferOn and what differentiates the platform from the competition?
Launched only this year, ReferOn is a state-of- the-art affiliate management platform that's both feature- and data-driven. Designed for both affiliates and admin users, it differs from other platforms in three major ways.

Reporting Capabilities - fantastic for transparency. Whether it's looking at day by day, full APIs or any type of structure required, it's fully available.

Rewarding – ReferOn’s rewarding means admin users can go all the way down to tracker level and is super fluid on how they can be created or changed.

Company Grouping - this allows affiliates or larger networks to group things together on one level, giving affiliate users a master login and admin users incredibly easy ways to review and report performance.
What's ReferOn’s message at SiGMA?

Where are the areas for improvement going forwards for ReferOn? What scope is there for scale and expansion of the platform?

foundations now in place, we can deliver. We're client-centric, as demonstrated by our roster of upcoming features. Whether affiliate executives need specific functions, backlogs, features; they can just get in touch. We probably have them available and if not, we'll be happy to take on projects.
How was the platform developed during the last 10 months?
One of the biggest advantages that ReferOn has are that it is based on completely new technology and since our soft launch with our first client in February, we have been rolling out more features. Tese have been developed via a mix of feedback from customers and contacts and our own research.
We have two-week sprints with great new features and since SBC Summit Barcelona in September we've improved mobile responsiveness, banner improvements, more bulk actions and new reporting functionalities. We're constantly improving the system to ensure it is the most up-to-date it can be.
We've already fleshed out all Q1 to Q2 for next year, and I have ideas all the way to the end of 2024. Without giving too much away, we have great new payment features that we will be launching. It's quite basic in its form, so we're looking to do invoice metrics where you can
Tat's the thing with any software, when you stop improving, you've lost your clients. So, you always need to find out what the market's doing. With the iGaming market, it is always changing.
So, for any software there needs to always be that fluidity, engagement, and client-centric approach, as well as an awareness of the market. It's a balance between these factors that make a decent product.
What conversations are you having at this event - are they predominantly with potential partners?
ReferOn has two major client bases, as well as a third that's a subsidiary of those two. Going in reverse order, the third subsidiary is your affiliates. Affiliates are still clients of the platform. Tey're not paying the bill, but they are a major stakeholder. You still need to work out what's going on, what people like about it, and so on. Because if affiliates catch on, migration becomes easier.
Tat brings us to one of the ‘major’ clients - operators and affiliate programs. Tese are people who either have a platform or an affiliate program, as well as other providers that might have different brands. Tese are our number one priority. It's who we're catering towards – those who can implement brands and feed through the data.
An additional profile we're looking for is data providers that have connections to other programs and brands. If we can integrate with them, it makes it easier for them to work together with others.
