Double-Latch Open-Top Socket from Ironwood

EAGAN, MN — Ironwood Elec - tronics recently introduced a new stamped spring pin socket addressing high performance requirements for testing 144 lead QFPs — CBT-QFE-3025.

The socket lid has an integrated compression plate for vertical force without distorting device position. The socket also features a

CBT-QFE-3025 socket for 144 lead QFPs.

The contactor used in the CBT- QFE-3025 socket is a stamped spring pin with 17 gram actua- tion force per ball and cycle life of 10,000+ insertions. The self inductance of the

contactor is 0.88 nH, insertion loss less than 1 dB at 31.7 GHz and capacitance of 0.03 pF. The current capacity of each contac- tor is 2.9A. Socket operating temperature range is –67 to +356°F (–55 to +180°C). The socket also features an open-top lid with a double latch for ease of operation. A center square open- ing on the lid allows ease of access to the device’s top side.

precise lead positioning guide that aligns each lead to the corresponding spring pin. The specific configuration of the package to be tested in the CBT-QFE-3025 is a thin QFP, 0.8 x 0.8 in. (20 x 20 mm), 0.02 in. (0.5 mm) pitch, 0.9 in. (22 mm) lead tip to tip distance, with 144 leads. The socket is mount- ed using supplied hardware on the target PCB with no soldering, and has a small

footprint. The small footprint allows inductors, resistors and decoupling capacitors to be placed very close to the device for impedance tuning. A center opening in the bot-

tom side of the socket is designed such that thermal dissipation of device ePAD can be accommodat- ed with an external heatsink through the target PCB on the bottom side. Contact: Ironwood Electron cs,

LUTZE Releases Industrial Continuous Motion Cables

CHARLOTTE, NC — LUTZE has introduced its MOTIONFLEX® control cables, an innovative new cabling solution for continuous motion applications in industrial automation. The cables are specif- ically designed for versatility and are suitable for linear and torsion-

al motion applications as well as use in cable trays. LUTZE MOTIONFLEX cab -

les are versatile, with construction and approvals for both plant and machine-level installation. The cables are available in unshielded

SCS PRECISIONCOAT V

Control cables for continuous motion applications.

(A422 series) and shielded (A421 series) designs, from 18 to 10 AWG with 2 to 12 conductors. Unshielded A422 cables have been tested to surpass five million linear cycles and two million tor- sional cycles at ±180°/m. Shielded A421 cables achieve the same cycle

ratings at ±120°/m.

MOTIONFLEX control cables are UL Listed Type TC-ER for use in cable trays. The sunlight and oil resistant TPE jacket ensures a long cable life even in the harshest industrial environments. Contact: LUTZE, Inc., 13330
