XP Power Launches PCB-Mount AC-DC Power Supplies
Sunnyvale, CA — XP Power is now offering two new series of PCB- mount, single-output AC-DC power
nents are required. Both series offer an extended
universal input range of 85 to 305 VAC, accommodating world- wide applications, including those that require higher- voltage operation. The sin- gle-output rail is available in seven voltages from 3.3 to 48 VDC.
Pre-approved to a range
of worldwide safety standards for ITS and household appli- cations, in cluding IEC60950- 1, IEC/ UL/EN62368-1 and IEC60335-1, the VCE20 and VCE40 series simplify the process of obtaining certifica- tion on the end equipment. A Class II rating and 3

supplies that offer a convenient and cost-effective solution for modern domestic, Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial tech applications. Complementing the previously
released 3, 5 and 10W models, the VCE20 and VCE40 series provide 20 and 40W of power and come in an encapsulated version, as well as a lower-cost open-frame version. Both are suited for PCB mounting. The compact size and inclusion
of PCB pins ensures ease of integra- tion into designs, safely interfacing mains power directly to the PCB. Their compact design includes an integral EMC filter, hold-up capaci- tor and fuse, so no external compo-

in the increasing number of applica- tions that do not have a ground con- nection. The low standby power of 300 mW makes the supplies suitable for domestic appliances and IoT applications that may remain in standby mode for extended periods of time.
Offering efficiencies of around
85 percent, the VCE20 and VCE40 operate with minimal temperature rise, eliminating the need for a heat sink. This reduces the space required for installation, the weight of the end product and the BOM cost. The VCE series is designed to

Flex Power Modules Adds to DC-DC Converter Series
San Jose, CA — Flex Power Modules has introduced a new version of its BMR480 digital DC-DC converter, optimized for telecom applications that require input voltage down to
36 Vin. The converter, called the BMR -
480 0113/034, provides an extended
input voltage range below 40 Vin, as is required for telecom power conversion applications. It is optimized for a wider input voltage range of 36 to 60
Vin, compared to the standard convert- ers in the BMR480 series. The new version also has an
output voltage of 12V, which is a common requirement for telecom, and output power up to 800W (out- put current up to 69A). It provides 1,500 VDC input-to-output isolation. Compared to other solutions on
the market, the BMR480 telecom version delivers superior thermal performance, with efficiency of typi- cally 96.4 at 53V output voltage and half load. Thermal performance is enhanced by a baseplate, which can be connected to a heat sink or cold plate, and the converter has an extended operating temperature
