Fremont, CA — nanosystec is now offering its NanoPlace component placement platform, which has a gantry configuration that offers a large, unob- structed working area with easy access for loading components. It is suitable for demanding mi- croassembly tasks and uses various types of joining methods. The design and process flow can be tai- lored to the application. Gluing with epoxy and UV curing is widely
used for the permanent placement of lenses, prisms, mirrors, VCSELs, and similar parts. Resin is dispensed by either time/pressure units, jetting dispensers or volumetric instruments. Eutectic bonding combines precise placement with high thermal conductivity. Typical examples
for such devices include optoelectronic chips, which are sensitive to temperature changes, such as mod- ulators, silicon photonics assemblies, or semicon- ductor laser dies. Selective laser soldering is an excellent choice
for attaching extremely thin wires to miniature con- tact pads or to insert heat-sensitive components into PCBs. Laser welding joins two parts without filling material. This joining technology provides maxi- mum mechanical strength and is widely used for aerospace applications. Deep River, CT — INSPECTIS AB has launched a new universal LED backlight, the HD-127, with intensi- ty adjustment control. This slim light panel with a powerful homogeneous white light is intended for bright- field illumination of inspection ob- jects. With 6,200 K color tempera- ture, it contains LED light sources mounted across a diffuser with pro- tecting glass for uniform and soft il- lumination.
