market. We have entered the era of big
data and Industry 4.0. Robotas is able to provide full traceability of manual assembly processes. “If you assemble a product using a Robotas system, we can provide full traceabil- ity of the build actions and also the parts and tools used in the build,” says Nick Walters, managing direc- tor, Robotas. “At Robotas, we call this ‘creating a product’s birth certifi- cate.’ You can even include snapshot images of any stage of the build into this certificate.” For many years, the company
has been integrating operators’ as- sembly data into production control systems, such as SAP. It is easy to recognize the need to consider the as- sembly process from picking the cor- rect parts all the way to inspecting the final goods. “When investing in Robotas
equipment, the short ROI can clearly be measured, because the product yields go up instantly and rework drops off,” says Walters. “The ROI for a Robotas assembly line is usually under 18 months.”
Development Philosophy The company’s development
philosophy is to always look at what the man or woman on the production line needs, in order to do their job ef- fectively. Then, the company opti- mizes that process, working in har- mony with today’s smart factory platforms. This effectively upskills the workforce, while providing a managed and controlled process that can be easily reported. Typical EMS companies that
Robotas works with are forward- thinking and agile. They usually build a high mix of products for qual- ity applications and have short to medium production runs. Working with the customer, the company pro-

from sales to software, has an engi- neering background, which allows the company to understand the needs of a new customer quickly,” says Walters. “We talk in engineering terms. We un- derstand what the difference is be- tween takt time and cycle time.” The company’s latest innova-
tion was to add component clinching to the Mascot product range. “We’ve been asked by many of our aerospace and military customers that use Mascot Clinch systems to add the clinch functionality. We’ve spent the last 12 months developing and refin- ing the precision and simplicity of this,” he concludes. Robotas Technologies is a unique
company in today’s market. The com- pany strives to deliver a complete solu- tion to manual assembly processes, in- creasing yields, reducing errors and upskilling workers. Contact: Robotas Technologies,

vides practical, proven solutions to a production process that is tradition- ally difficult to manage. Manual assembly is the most
common area for production errors to occur, which is why Robotas is so compelling for process, industrial and quality engineers. The company optimizes, simplifies and helps to control the manual assembly process. “Everyone on staff at Robotas,
