Page 93 KIC Intros Integrated Fixture and Oven Profiler

San Diego, CA — KIC is now offering a new Smart Reflow Analyzer (SRA) and RPI i4.0 software designed to gather data during reflow in order to optimize the process. The SRA is an integrated fixture and profiler

specifically designed for collecting reflow oven data to track machine stability from run to run and over time. An all-in-one smart fixture, it contains a built-in data collection module. SRA can be used no matter what kind of profiler is in use. The SRA has six embedded thermocouples —

three air TCs and three mass TCs — which are used to calculate and display a variety of data for each oven zone, such as measured zone tempera- tures and side-to-side uniformity. With the SRA, users are also able to identify

changes in heat transfer in a zone over time, through the display of a heat transfer index (HTI). Also, it uses the latest in laser sensor technology to automatically measure the conveyor speed each time it runs through a machine. RPI i4.0 is an easy, built-in

WACKER Formulates Self-Adhesive LSRs

Adrian, MI —WACKER is now offer- ing a portfolio of self-adhesive liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs) with low coefficients of friction. The portfolio includes two new

product lines: ELASTOSIL® 3671 for applications in food technology and ELASTOSIL LR 3675 for automotive applications. WACKER also launched its

SILPURAN® 6760/50 recently, de - signed for medical applications with comparable surface properties. All three products are self-adhesive to metals and selected thermoplastics. When cured, they form elastomers with dry,

low-friction surfaces,

enabling cost-effective, large-scale production of injection molded hard- soft composites. Silicone elastomers made from

ELASTOSIL LR 3671, ELASTOSIL LR 3675 and SILPURAN 6760/50 have coefficients of friction that are 50 to 70 percent lower than those of comparable standard silicone rubber. The friction-lowering effect is

achieved without exuding oil as hap- pens in oil-bleeding silicone elas- tomers. That makes the products excellent for use in the manufacture of components with low-friction sur- faces that must be kept oil-free. The new LSRs are self-adhe-

sive. Like other WACKER self-adhe- sive liquid silicone rubbers, the new compounds adhere to thermoplastics, such as polyamide and polybutylene terephthalate, two polymers com- monly used as the hard component in two-component items. Strong chemical bonding takes

place upon application, eliminating the need to pretreat the plastics. The same is true for metal surfaces. The new products exhibit excellent adhe- sion without any pretreatment in

many cases. Contact: Wacker Chemical

solution for automation, traceability and advanced reflow data collection and sharing for smart facto-

ry integration. RPI i4.0 automatically acquires profile data from each PCB soldered in the reflow or curing oven, in real time. This new ecosystem offers a real-time ther-

mal process dashboard and traceability, reduced scrap and rework, fast defect troubleshooting, lower electricity use, and more. Advanced data search and communication features save engineers valuable time. With RPI i4.0, all relevant data can connect

to the factory MES or other factory data collection system. This allows the data to be quickly shared with personnel and accessed from any authorized

PC or mobile device. Contact: KIC, 16120 W. Bernardo Drive,
