Ensuring a Smooth Process ASM makes its SmartStencil RFID tags avail-


able to stencil manufacturers around the globe. At the electronics manufacturer’s request, the stencil manufacturer affixes the RFID tag to a specified area of the stencil and writes certain data to it. This may include customer name, stencil UID, image number, stencil manufacturer, data, etc., which streamlines the customer’s receiving process.

er reads out its printing cycle history. It also keeps track of the current job’s process cycles and writes them to the tag. That way, the system knows at all times how many cycles have been run with a par- ticular stencil. When the warning threshold is reached, the


printer issues a message, which gives the manu- facturer time to order a new stencil. To simplify the reordering process, both the manufacturer’s and stencil’s data can be read from the SmartStencil RFID tag and added to the order. When the stop threshold is
