Radford, VA — Nippon Pulse has introduced its PJE series of bipolar hybrid stepper motors, which are available in sizes from 0.8 to 3.4 in. (20 to 86 mm) in diameter (NEMA sizes 8 to 34). These new motors round out the company’s hybrid motor line, joining its existing PJP unipolar hybrid motor series. The PJE series provides high
torque in each of its form factors (sin- gle, double and triple stack lengths), so OEMs can utilize a smaller-sized motor to achieve the required amount of torque. Larger frame sizes also include an option for a motor with a built-in encoder, while some of the smaller frame sizes include a lin- ear hybrid (PJEL) model. All of the
company’s bipolar hybrid motors are RoHS- and CE-compliant.

High-Precision Vertical Elevator Stage from OES
Van Nuys, CA — Optimal Engin - eering Systems (OES) has released two new high-precision z-axis eleva- tor stages. The AZV9010 and the AZV9020 motorized z-axis lin- ear positioning stages have ver- tical travels of 0.4 and 0.8 in. (10 and 20 mm) respectively. The vertical motion of
each z-axis stage is driven by a 0.3 in. (8 mm) diameter ball screw with a 0.04 in. (1 mm) lead, and guided by cross roller bearings. Very high resolutions of 0.004 or 0.002 mil (0.1 or 0.05 µm) with 10/20 micro- steps per step motor drive, and repeatability of ±0.02 mil (±0.5 µm) makes these two z-axis stages excellent for microscopy, inspection, metrology, position- ing, photonics, sampling, laser drilling, and machining. Each stage has a 3.5 x 3.5 in. (90
x 90 mm) table with threaded holes for fixtures or tooling. Each stage has a dynamic straightness of 0.2 mil (5 µm) and dynamic parallelism of 1.2 mil (30 µm). The maximum z-axis travel speed is 0.2 in./s (5 mm/s) and load capacity is 11 lb (5 kg). The AZV9010 and AZV9020 z-
axis stages are constructed of black- anodized aluminum alloy and weigh 4.1 lb (1.85 kg), and 4.3 lb (1.95 kg). Each stage has a knob for manual
