Page 105 PDR Demos Focused-IR Rework Systems
Shingle Springs, CA — PDR is offer- ing demonstrations of
its E6S
Evolution rework system and E3G Gold rework system at SMTA International 2019. PDR’s gantry- level focused-IR rework system mod- els E6XL and E6S are designed to rework PCBs up to 24 in. (610 mm) in size. The company’s gantry design offers full rework access to devices placed on the leading edges of medi- um-to-large PCB formats in a simple and easy-to-use rework system. PDR’s E6 series utilizes the
company’s patented focused-IR rework technology with visible IR component targeting, as well as infrared preheating from below for superior thermal balancing of the
nScrypt Offers Multi Material Factory in a Tool
Orlando, FL — The Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group of Australia’s Department of Defence has selected nScrypt’s Factory in a Tool (FiT) platform to augment its research operations. DST selected an nScrypt 3Dn-500 Penta-Head, multi- material FiT platform, which will be outfitted with a SmartPump™ micro - dispensing tool head, nFD™ material extrusion tool head, pick and place for electronic components and subassem- blies, and nMill™ tool heads for micromilling, and a UV tool head with integrated laser and pulse forge pho- tonic curing for spot curing of pho- topolymers.

PCB during the rework process. Defense entities, contract man-
ufacturers, research and telecom cus- tomers have identified PDR’s E6
technology as the system of choice for the machine’s ease of use, effective rework and flexibility to tackle a wide range of applications. Priced below fully automated
systems, PDR’s simple design and easy-to-master rework systems are built to ensure that they are virtual- ly maintenance-free, offering years of useful service with many PDR sys-
tems built in the 1980s still in use. Contact: PDR Americas, 3869

3Dn-500 Factory in a Tool. The tool heads can operate in
series or parallel on the FiT’s fast, high-precision linear motion gantry. The tool heads are monitored by mul- tiple cameras for automated in- process inspection and computer vision routines. The system also includes a point laser height sensor for Z-tracking and mapping for con- formal printing onto objects of any surface shape. DST delivers expert and impar-
tial scientific advice to support Australia’s current operations, and provides innovative solutions for defense and national security. The FiT’s SmartPump microdis-
pensing tool head eliminates drool- ing with pico-liter volumetric control and can dispense more than 10,000 commercially available materials, ranging from a few centipoise to mil-
lions of centipoise. Contact: nScrypt, Inc., 12151
