Essemtec Showcases Wave Soldering from Ersa FOX2 Assembly System
Glassboro, NJ — Essemtec is show- casing its new FOX2 assembly plat- form, which combines jetting and dis- pensing, 2.5D placement, electrical testing, inventory control, and trace- ability in a single machine. The FOX2 has a machine foot-
print of just under 11 ft2 (1m2) and can accept PCB sizes up to 16 x 12 in. (406 x 305 mm). The system can place components from 01005 (0402 metric) up to 1.3 x 3.1 in. (33 x 79 mm) in size. The machine achieves 10,800 CPH (IPC9850) at 50 µm, three sigma, with a two-nozzle head. The two-head version is the
company’s bestseller, based on the original award-winning platform. This is the first platform in its class with linear motors and a mineral cast frame, providing excellent speed, stability, accuracy, and mak- ing it suitable for low- to mid-volume production environments. Essemtec’s FOX2 can be fitted
with a jet valve for SMD glue or sol- der paste for hassle-free manufactur- ing of 2.5D assemblies or a lower-cost micro screw valve. The FOX2 also
