Laboratory Products 63 New Class II Biological Safety Cabinet

Scientists and researchers working in academia, cell culture/gene therapy, QA/QC, molecular biology, clinical diagnostics and clinical/ IVF can now benefi t from the new Thermo Scientifi c 1500 Series Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC). Combining safety, energy effi ciency and user convenience for today’s modern laboratory, the cabinet offers a high level of personal and product protection from biological hazards and contamination, ease of use with an intuitive touchscreen display and eco-friendly LED lighting for a brighter work environment.

The 1500 Series BSC is the latest addition to Thermo Fisher Scientifi c’s innovative Class II BSC portfolio. It leverages Thermo Scientifi c SmartFlow Plus and DAVe Plus advanced airfl ow technologies to support automated airfl ow compensation and provides alerts for any out-of-spec conditions for added assurance.

Designed to meet the demands of most laboratories and deliver value, the 1500 Series BSC is available in two sizes (4ft and 6ft) incorporating NSF safety certifi cation and offers optional features such as a stand with castors and a cover for the back of the cabinet to support increased mobility and easier cleaning.

Featuring effi cient and programmable UV cleaning cycles, night set-back mode, tactile window mechanism, Thermo Scientifi c SmartPort convenience and enhanced cleanability, the 1500 Series BSC provides a controlled environment for safe sample handling, protecting both users and their valuable research at all times.

High-Throughput Autoclave Cuts Sterilisation Costs

Priorclave front-loading laboratory and research grade autoclaves offer exceptional reliability and unparalleled energy, water, and lifetime cost savings, and are one of the fi rst to receive an ACT certifi cate that quantities its superb energy effi ciency credentials.

The 320L model with its taller chamber profi le than that found in most cylindrical machines can boost lab effi ciency and low costs by sterilising larger bulky items as well as small and taller items in a single process. It is available in both the new BASE and SMART categories, incorporating more features as standard.

Introduction of the new categories by Priorclave simplifi es the autoclave selection process, enabling customers to choose the best model for their needs. Typically, the BASE range covers ‘the basics’, media preparation, waste loads, and sterilising loose instruments, open containers, and labware. The SMART range is intended for industrial, research, and production labs and facilities with greater or more diverse needs. They adeptly handle standard tasks (e.g., media prep, waste loads, labware) but can also produce drier loads and more reliably handle complex loads that tend to trap air.

Priorclave purposefully designed the cylindrical chamber of this model with a taller profi le than that found in most ‘cylindrical’ machines, a 630mm chamber, 1025mm deep and a low convenient loading height of just 725mm. Its impressive load capacity has proven to give lab equipment purchaser a strong viable alternative to large more costly rectangular chamber autoclaves.

The build quality of this 320L capacity front loading autoclave incorporate epoxy coated panels and frame members which are treated with an anti-bacterial agent. This is a highly effective and permanent treatment for lifelong control of harmful bacteria and protection against the threat of cross contamination. This tough special epoxy fi nish is proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E.coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Pseudomonas and over 50 other species.

Ready-to-Use Protein and Cell Lysates for Cellular Metabolism Research

AMSBIO has expanded its range of top quality, high- performance assay kits, antibodies, enzymes, and substrates for cellular metabolism research.

Drawing upon an extensive network of collaborations, AMSBIO has assembled a comprehensive collection of high quality, ready-to-use protein and cell lysates for use in cell metabolism research. The range includes compartmental total proteins specifi cally isolated from cell membrane, cytoplasma, cytoskeleton, nuclei, and mitochondria. In addition, focused cell lysates are available from human and a wide array of mammalian species / tissue types.

AMSBIO offers an extensive range of high quality, ready- to-use cellular metabolism activity assay kits that enable fast, high-performance detection of most target proteins. Based on the latest innovative technologies these kits are designed to measure lipid and glycerol levels, folate metabolism, pyruvate metabolism, glycolysis and gluconeogenic pathways, citrate metabolism and oxidative stress.

A new range of tools to advance your post Krebs cycle research have also been introduced. The Krebs cycle is a metabolic pathway that participates in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, but is best known for its ability to produce cellular energy in the form of the GTP molecule. AMSBIO now offers an extensive range of products for the biochemical processes responsible for the synthesis of proteins (transcription, translation, and post translational modifi cations) and amino acids (anabolism), as well as the degradation of proteins (catabolism). Additionally, AMSBIO has introduced an extensive range of products involved in nucleic acid metabolism including RNA metabolism (transcription, translation, and degradation) plus the three main processes (replication, repair, and recombination) of DNA metabolism.
