CHROMATOGRAPHERS ARE EuSSS Never heard of EuSSS? Read this Article and you will have...
“
Do you want to keep in touch with scientists who share the same or similar interests?
Do you want to know what’s happening in your speciality across Europe rather than just within your own country?
Do you wish to travel to scientific meetings and share your knowledge with others who will understand and appreciate it?
The European Society for Separation Science

The founders of EuSSS wanted all these things and have set up the means for achieving them and more. It is very simple to join and costs you nothing.
Analytical chemists who practice chromatography and employ chromatographers support many industries. Their input is vital to research and development, process control and manufacturing as well as in academic departments.
Analytical chemists who practise chromatography and employ chromatographers support many industries. Their input is vital to research and development, process control and manufacturing as well as in academic departments. Despite these ubiquitous, widespread applications the practitioners tend to live and work in relative isolation and do not venture abroad unless they are sent and paid for by their employers. As a result of this, separation science societies representing the interests of chromatographers are active in most countries but they concentrate mainly on activities within their country’s boundaries.
To encourage high quality science and its communication, EuSSS are offering prizes to scientists and young scientists who demonstrate the highest standards and potential in their speciality. The aim is to recognise excellence and advertise it to all scientists to encourage them to share their thoughts and achievements with colleagues internationally.
EuSSS endorsement of high quality publications:
Many scientists practise fine work within their laboratories but do not make their work public. EuSSS has privileged access to professional publishers who seek high quality work for publication. If you would like to see your work published or wish to contribute to a book and want an introduction to publishers, please contact EuSSS to help you facilitate this. Your contribution will be considered by an expert panel and you will be assisted to write up the work by a team of experienced editors. Peer review and high quality printing will ensure your work is presented in a readable authoritative form and distributed professionally. If you wish to contribute please contact EuSSS via their Honorary Secretary, Dr Chris Bevan, who will advise you further.

EuSSS has invited all the countries in Europe and Russia to join together to share the science of their members. This invitation has been accepted willingly by many societies who have pledged to cooperate and collaborate to spread knowledge to their members.
For example, by becoming a member of the UK’s Chromatographic Society
www.chromsoc.com you become automatically a member of EuSSS and have access to its activities and events.
A new steering committee, consisting of Professor Boguslaw Buszewski, Attila Felinger and Chris Bevan, is taking the reins from Hartmut Frank and Francesco Dondi to continue to run the EuSSS and ensure its influence expands and blooms.
Many of the local societies’ events can be found within the EuSSS international calendar of events. EuSSS members are encouraged to attend and take an active part in them.
