19 Membrane Inlet Mass Spectrometer Explained
The Hiden Analytical HPR-40 Membrane Inlet Mass Spectrometer (MIMS) system uses a semi-permeable membrane to isolate the mass spectrometer from the aqueous media and preferentially transmit the dissolved gases and organic vapours for analysis, simultaneously and continuously measuring multiple species in real- time. Sampling options comprise a range of circular carrier interfaces for flow-through operation and of capillary-style probes for direct insertion into the media. The Hiden HPR-40 addresses a broad range of applications including soil core analysis, water analysis, groundwater contamination studies and environmental monitoring. Hiden Analytical have published their latest brochure which describes the HPR-40 MIMS for measurement of dissolved gaseous species in aqueous solution. The brochure outlines features and specifications of the instrument together with an overview of the HPR-40 methodology and application areas.

Compact FTIR Module
The Midac Illuminator is a compact (16” x 9” x 8”) FTIR module that integrates well with a variety of sample interfaces in virtually any configuration. Inside each Illuminator is an IR source and interferometer, which provide a collimated output beam. The rugged module can be coupled with any sampling accessory equipped with its own IR detector to create a compact dedicated analyser.
Alternatively, the Illuminator’s internal IR source can be replaced with a detector module for emissions work, or for use with an external IR source. The unit can be powered by a 12 volt battery as an alternative to standard AC power, enabling use in remote or field applications.
Data collection, post processing and report generation are provided by MIDAC's AutoQuant Pro real-time multi-component quantitative analysis package, or the Essential FTIR (EFTIR) general purpose spectroscopy software.

SAFASTM XeniusTM XM is a high performance grating monochromator microplate reader with 100% AIR technology (high energy, no fiber optics!) and variable bandwidths (1-30nm). Techniques are ordered "a la carte": luminescence, spectrofluorescence and absorbance; it is upgradable depending on needs and budgets. Bioluminescence has amazing dynamic range (70Mcps), sensitivity and cross- talking (<10-5), with 2 injection heads in measurement position, and up to 15 auto- priming micro-injectors. Spectra of bioluminescence, absorbance and fluorescence (exc/emi/sync/3D) are scanned up to 7000nm/min. The fast auto-10-cuvette holder is optional, like auto-Polarizers which measure anisotropy down to 275nm with magic angle. Validable on Pharmacopoeia standards. Driven by a user-friendly, powerful PC software (FDA 21CFR part11 optional) through Ethernet TCP/IP and USB ports.

SAFASTM XeniusTM XC has outstanding sensitivity and can work opened, enabling easy manual injections in the 10 stirred, thermostated and aligned cuvettes, measured in 5 seconds. Optional, 1 to 15 micro-injectors enable injection automation, inside or in-situ; 2 reagents can be injected in stirred microsamples of 250µl with steps of 0.1µl. Living fixed cellulas can be measured in evolutive perifusion media. Absorbance is optional. The high aperture grating monochromators have variable bandwidths (1-30nm), unparalleled 0.2nm accuracy, 0.01nm repeatability, and are validated on Pharmacopoeia standards. Innovative optical design provides amazing quality on the most difficult samples (turbid, cellular suspensions, heterogeneous, solids, etc..), with photobleaching protection. Fiber optics are optional for in-situ measurements. Evolutive, it is upgradeable with microplate reader (Abs, Fluo, and/or Lumi), all techniques and samples being available simultaneously without dismantling. PC controlled through Ethernet TCP/IP and USB ports, with powerful and user-friendly software.

A DIFFERENT WORLD OF SPECTROSCOPY, EXCLUSIVELY RESERVED TO OUR CUSTOMERS
Most of our customers usually choose SAFASTM instruments because they are looking for the highest sensitivity and speed, love our ingenious solutions, or require some of our breakthrough technologies for their applications. Often, it’s also because they want our powerful and user-friendly software, need accurate compliance on standards, or our legendary reliability.
In reality, there is another good reason to choose the Quality of a SAFASTM instru- ment... In the world, every minute, thousands of apparatus are scrapped, involving an amazing accumulation of waste and threatening the future of our children. In the Scientific World, instruments which could have been used for 10 more years often have to be replaced just because of basic spare parts no more available, no more service or assis- tance, obsolete software, no more compliance on standards, loss of reliability, or new technologies only available on new instruments. Over decades, this regular purchase of new instruments is also a big waste of budgets for the laboratories.
On the contrary, since 1952, because of a certain idea of commitment to customer satis- faction, SAFASTM has always been manufacturing Quality instruments, rugged, able to work for many years with long term compliance and minimum ownership costs; our concept of Evolutivity enables to upgrade instruments depending on needs and budgets, and when it is possible, most of the new options are developed so as to be compatible with instruments already in use. Regarding software, since 1988, when we introduced the world’s first 100% PC controlled spectrophotometer, ALL our instruments benefit from our policy of free software updates (excepted CD/shipment costs and special software); FDA CFR21 part11 option is now available for ALL these instruments. And for most of them, whatever could be their age, we make our best to keep spare parts in stock... This is our global concept of SUSTAINABLE SPECTROSCOPYTM: a strong contribution to SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, and a lot of money spared for our customers...
