Recreation Whether you are in to water sports, hiking, bike riding,
horseback riding, or picnicing, you will love Yorkville! Yorkville is home to the state’s largest water park,
Raging Waves, 4000 N. Bridge St., and in 2018 the park is getting even bigger. Te 58-acre park is adding Quokka-Nut Island with four new slides and a zero-depth pool for children ages 2 to 5, and the Wild Wallabies, two new slides with more than 600 feet of twists and turms for guests over 42 inches.

Annual event held June 22-23 at the Bicentennial Riverfront Park. Beer sampling, food, great music.
Fourth of July Celebration
The annual celebration held on the 4th of July. Sponsored by the Yorkville Area 4th of July Committee. Parade begins at 9 a.m. followed by food booths, games, rides, band concerts in Town Square Park. Fireworks at dusk. The Yorkville Big Band will be performing at 8 p.m. in the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home parking lot.
River Fest
Held at Riverfont Park. Live country music, family activities, food, cardboard boat flotilla, homebrew tasting. Friday & Saturday, July 13 & 14. Sponsored by the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce and the United City of Yorkville Recreation Dept.

canoeing, kayaking, and tubing fun, in addition to great fishing. Down at the Riverfront Park on east Hydraulic St., the Marge Cline Whitewater Course is the place to try out kayaking and canoeing skills. Te Yorkville Park and Recreation Dept. in 2018 opened a new playground for children and a new kayak launch (see below) at the east end of the park.
Illinois Whitewater Festival
Sponsored by The Chicago Whitewater Association with support from the City of Yorkville at the Marge Cline Whitewater Park on the Fox River on Saturday, July 13 & 14 Slalom, Rodeo and more on-water events.
Wine’d Down Wednesday
Wednesday, July 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Town Square Park Metaphysically Fit Fest
July 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bicentennial Riverfront Park. Live music, food, yoga classes, jewelry, aromatherapy, meditation, organic & natural products, healing arts, etc.
Hometown Days
Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at the Beecher Community Park, 908 Game Farm Rd. Admission fee charged after 5 p.m. Concerts, carnival rides, car show, contests and food.
The Great Pumpkin Pull
Saturday, Oct 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bicentennial Riverfront Park. The Knights of Columbus and the City are co-sponsors of the event.
Halloween Egg Hunt Friday, Oct. 19, at Town Square Park. Biz Boo!
Annual Halloween Business Trick or Treat held this year on Saturday, Oct. 20. Children & parents invited to visit all participating businesses displaying a Yorkville Chamber poster for treats and fun activities.
Yorkville Holiday Celebration
Saturday, Nov. 17. Yorkville kicks off the holiday season with a traditional tree lighting ceremony, food, holiday fun activities, a visit from Santa Claus and a holiday fireworks show. Held annually at the Bicentennial Riverfront Park.
