Hospitality, LLC, picked Yorkville to be home to his newest hotel after being invited in 2016 to visit the community by Yorkville’s Economic Development advisor Lynn Dubajic and local developer Jim Ratos. “I liked the community and the people were so friendly


and there was a big need for a banquet facility and a hotel,” Sonny says. “I fell in love with Yorkville.” Te new Holiday Inn Express & Suites by


Intercontinental Hotel Group, and Kendall Banquet and Events Center, located at 577 E. Kendall Dr. in Kendall Crossing, is planning to open in December 2018. “Tere is not another unique wedding, birthday, party


venue within a 10-mile radius of this location,” Sonny says. “So we thought it would be an excellent idea to put a hotel/banquet facility, everything in one place.”


Te new hotel will have more than 90 rooms, an indoor pool and spa, a banquet facility with a bar/restaurant, complimentary wi/fi, a full complimentary breakfast and buffet, a fitness center, an outside gazebo and seating area, and charging stations for electric cars. “It is a unique set-up,” Sonny says. “Te banquet area


will seat more than 400 people. Technologically it will have all the latest sound/video, all integrated with the mezanine floor and with the bride and groom suite.” Sonny says that people don’t want to have to drive after
