EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACT IVI T I ES 2017 - 2018 Gymnastics Club
This club enables pupils to develop gymnastic skills using a range of apparatus such as the floor, the vault, the Swedish beams and ropes. The club is open to all pupils who wish to develop their gymnastics skills.
Hockey
Building on fitness, skills and match play covered in curriculum hockey lessons, extra-curricular hockey offers additional training for ALL girls within, or wishing to be considered for, School hockey teams, or those just wanting to gain practice and further experience in the sport. Each team will train at least twice a week, once at lunchtime and once after School.
Each year we enter the Sussex Knock-Out Cup and National Schools Hockey Tournament.
Matches: mid-week (after School), Wednesday afternoons for Years 7 & 8 and Saturday matches for ALL year groups.
Kick Boxing
Following the success of the Kickboxing lessons in 2016/17, the sessions will continue to run for Sixth Form girls. The sessions will take place in the Gym and will be taught by a qualified instructor who will follow a syllabus. This is not a certificated course as the emphasis will be on technique, enjoyment and fitness. However, there may be an opportunity for girls to do their grading’s at an additional cost having communicated their interest to the instructor.
Netball
Netball Clubs provide opportunities for girls of all abilities and experience to attend in order to improve their skills, game play and specific fitness. Netball Clubs are provided for different age groups with elite group sessions taking place to extend the skills of selected girls. Each team will train at least twice a week: once at lunchtime and once after School from September to March.
Matches:will be mid-week and on Saturdays.
