EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACT IVI T I ES 2017 - 2018 Schola Cantorum
This is a Choir dedicated to the performance of larger pieces, with an opportunity to work with professional orchestras and soloists at School, in Cathedrals and elsewhere. Vocal quality, enthusiasm and commitment are essential.
For some performances, adult voices provide the lower parts. The Choir regularly sings at services at Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral and has also toured abroad to places such as Rome, Venice and Malta.
Ensembles Orchestra
The Orchestra, which is available to girls playing an instrument at Grade 3 standard or above, performs two concerts per year and participates in other School events. We study a wide and varied repertoire from Bach to Film Music, which provides opportunities for different instrumentalists to take the lead.
Flute Group
This is an opportunity for flute players to play in a small ensemble and prepare music for concert performances. The Flute Group gives girls who would not be confident to perform solo work, a chance to play in a group.
Advanced Flute Group
A flute ensemble for advanced players performing a wide variety of repertoire.

Recorder Consort An advanced chamber music ensemble performing a repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries with an emphasis on authentic performance. This is one of the most challenging music ensembles. The Consort regularly performs at Chamber Orchestra concerts and it is hoped that it will accompany Schola Cantorum on its next overseas trip.
