Performing Arts DANCE
Ballet
Ballet encourages the development of poise, balance, strength, agility, placement, rhythm and musicality. Ballet classes at School use the Imperial Society of Dance-Cecchetti. The Cecchetti method of classical ballet offers a complete and well-structured system of training that caters for the small child through to the professional dancer and the future teacher.
Three aspects of dance are covered in this syllabus: classical ballet, character dance and free movement. Pupils also have the opportunity to take Cecchetti exams during the year. All grades and abilities are catered for and many pupils enjoy the experience of dancing and performing at annual events such as dance competitions and the Dance Show.
For: Years 7 - 13 Classes are held on Tuesdays (16:45pm - 18:00pm) and Wednesdays (16:45pm -19:15pm) - for all grades up to Grade 6, Intermediate Foundation Examination and pointe work, and on Fridays (16:45pm - 18:00pm) - for the Intermediate Examination.
