EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACT IVI T I ES 2017 - 2018 Recorder Group


An opportunity for recorder players to play in a small ensemble and prepare music for concert performances.


String Group A small ensemble of mixed strings, playing a broad repertoire to suit the combination of instruments and levels of abilities of its members. This group regularly performs at the School’s orchestral concerts and other events.


Wind Group This group provides an opportunity for wind


players to explore the Jazz repertoire. The music studied is tailored to the make-up of the group, so it is very flexible.

Music Aural lessons


Girls who are preparing for instrumental examinations may require some additional aural lessons prior to their exams. This class is essential for all music examination candidates and useful to anyone with an interest in Music.


A study timetable will be discussed when the girls attend the lessons.

Music Theory lessons


Girls who wish to learn Music Theory to assist them with their instrumental exams may attend these sessions. This class is essential for all music examination candidates and useful to anyone with an interest in Music.


Girls should select one weekly lesson. One hour of additional study per week is recommended.
