EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACT IVI T I ES 2017 - 2018 Prayer Groups

After successfully running a prayer group in Middle School, we will now be offering one for Lower School and Sixth Form. We will study passages from the bible, share aspects of our own lives and form deep, supportive friendships. As Christians it can be difficult to live out our faith alone, this group will support you in living the way God wants you to.

Cornelia Club

This is an activity for all age groups, you will have the opportunity to play board games, do arts and crafts such as Card making, friendship bands and Hamma Beads. It is a great way to meet new friends, have some fun and wind down in the middle of the day.

THE MIDDLE SCHOOL PERSONAL ENRICHMENT PROJECT

The PEP is an opportunity for girls in Years 9 & 10 to stretch and challenge themselves outside the curriculum by undertaking a research project on a personal area of interest. It aims to promote healthy growth mindsets by developing both academic and personal independence and resilience.

The project is modelled on the Higher Project Qualification, the GCSE equivalent of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and provides good preparation for girls wanting to go on and do the Erasmus Project in the Sixth Form. It will start after the October half term with sessions designed to develop project management skills and generate ideas for projects. Following this, the girls will work on their projects over the Spring Term, logging their progress as they go. At the beginning of the Summer Term, they will submit their projects and give an oral presentation on it.

Every girl will get extensive personalised feedback on their project and a certificate of achievement. Projects are judged not only on the final product, but also on the planning, management and critical evaluation of them. The early finish date for this ECA gives girls time over the Summer Term for study and revision.
