Free educational programmes
BeautyUK will host three programmes of seminars over two days, supported by therapists’ membership organisation ABT, which all BeautyUK visitors are invited to attend, free of charge. Salon and beauty business owners can also participate in the Beauty Business Programme on Sunday 18th May, to gain expert advice on building your business.
Entry to all seminars is free of charge, and you may attend as many seminars as you wish. Read on to see the full programme.
And there is an additional reason for educators to visit the Habia – VTCT stand – to collect your free goody bag which includes freebies to the value of £100. If you’re looking for some creative inspiration, pay a visit to the BeautyUK competition areas, where the 8th annual UK Nail Tech competition will be taking place with nail technicians from across the country competing to be named UK Nail Tech 2014.
Habia / VTCT Education Zone
The Habia Skills Team will demonstrate the latest techniques for nail art, nail extensions, special effects and media make-up, airbrush make-up and Asian bridal make-up, reflecting what is learnt while studying for a VTCT qualification.
On the joint Habia – VTCT stand, show attendees will be able to get information about the Professional Registers in Beauty, Nails and Spa, E-learning resources, Habia Associate Packages, Business Solutions in Health and Safety, Employment Law and Selling Skills, plus much more.

National Make-up Artist Awards 2014
Take part in the National Make-up Artist Awards 2014, supported by the National Association of Screen Make-up Artists and Hairdressers (NASMAH), where UK- based MUAs are invited to showcase their talents and win this prestigious title.
Taking place on Monday 19th May, there are three live categories for Salon Make- Up Artists, Freelance Make-up Artists and Student Make-up Artists, along with
four Portfolio competitions: Best Make- Up for Editorial, Best Make-Up for Advertising, Best Make-Up for On Screen and Best Make-Up for a Creative / Test Shoot.

In addition, BeautyUK is always keen to support tomorrow’s beauty talent and the West Midlands’ heat of WorldSkillsUK will once again return – with students from local colleges competing for a place to represent their region in the WorldSkillsUK final.
Students competing in the Beauty Therapy category will be judged on the role and tasks of a beauty therapist, including carrying out a range of treatments which reflect both current and traditional beauty therapy treatments, whilst Media Make-up competitors will focus on all the essential requirements for a successful career in media make-up.
