Dermatitismajor cause for sick leave
The latest figures fromthe Health and Safety Executive (HSE) confirmthat contact dermatitis and hand eczema continue to be a big issue in the hair and beauty industry.
“Over 70%of salon professionals get some sort of dermatitis during their career, some even have to give up their beloved
profession. Also figures show that bad hands are amajor reason for sick leave in the industry and with ever increasing cost the pressure for businesses is getting higher,” explains Dr Stefan Hesse,Managing Director of Reamin UK, who produce protective hand care creamfor the industry.
“Gloves are very important to protect hands but cannot be worn all day long. Reamin quickly absorbs and the protective layer based on beeswax does not wash off giving lasting protection while working with beauty products,” Dr Hesse adds.
