Sharon HilditchMBE, CEO and developer of Crystal Clear International, reveals what makes her happy both in and away from the industry

I ended up in the beauty industry because…

I startedmy first job in a hairdressing salon when I was 11 and trained there. When I was 18 I decided to domy beauty training as both seemed to go hand-in-hand. However, I spent several years studying skin health and this is wheremy passion for skin care comes from.

If I wasn’t in the industry I would be…

A lawyer. I did start a law degree years ago but never completedmy last year due to work commitments. I love the fact the law is neither black nor white but a rather grey area in between.

The best thing aboutmy job is…

I get to develop new treatments and it’s fun researching what ingredients I want to put in my skin care products. I have a very creative mind and tend to come up with lots of inventions. There is no better feeling than when you actually develop something from your initial thoughts and then see it in production and launch into the industry. My latest is Crystal Clear COMCIT™ (Cryo OxygenMicrochannelling Collagen InductionTherapy) and to think it’s the first treatment systemof its type in the world is such a great feeling.

An average day forme is…

I tend to run before I come to work as it helps me think and I suppose it’s when I run that I think of business strategies. When I amnot travelling to appointments I tend to start the day around 10amin theWintermonths and in the Summermonths I try and get in around

7.30amas it’s the only peaceful time in the office before everyone comes in. I have learnt that you need to close yourmind down at some point in the day and I tend to refuse to think of work after 8pm.Well, it works sometimes if you don’t classme writing ‘to do’ lists atmidnight.

My ideal weekend would be….

My husband and I having breakfast in bed followed by a three hour walk in the countryside, then finishing at the local pub for dinner and a nice glass of the red stuff.

When growing upmy rolemodel was…

My two older sisters as I wanted to do everything they did. My favourite book is…

A PerfectYear – itmakesme want to run away withmy husband, live in a French château and ridemy bike to the local village

to buy bread. I amactually visitingMougin in France this Summer to see where the film wasmade.
