BMW Foundry in China Launching in 2016 宝马（中国）铸造厂将于2016年启动
Founded in May 2003, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.
(BBA) is a joint venture of BMW Group and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. Its operations include the production, sales and after-sales services of BMW automotives. Te plant is situated in Shenyang city, Liaoning Province, which has a strong industrial base. BBA has also set up a branch company in Beijing, with a nationwide sales and service network. Currently, BBA has over 14,000 associates. BBA manufactures the BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase, the BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase and standard version as well as the BMW X1. Nearly 200,000 units of BBA products were delivered in China in 2013. In order to satisfy rapidly increasing customer demand the BMW Brilliance Tiexi plant was opened in 2012. At this production site, the newly launched brand ZINORO will soon produce a fully electronic car. Tis new brand is another sign for the long term cooperation and successful development between the BMW Group and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. Due to its commitment to lead the premium auto market in
China, BBA constantly invests in cutting-edge technologies and the future viability of the company. A good example is the new engine plant (NEP) which is under construction next to the Tiexi plant and will go into operation in 2016. Te new engine plant will include a foundry, machining (cylinder body processing, crankcase processing, and cylinder cap processing), assembly and other related facilities. Te foundry will be the first BMW foundry outside of Europe.
Te technology that is being installed has been taken from the
BMW Plant in Landshut, Germany, where the process has been optimized over the last years. By using state-of-the-art machines it will create both an exciting as well as employee-friendly envi- ronment. Tere will be no typical smell or dust.
