Fill Machine Engineering optimizes established processes

guarantee producers the highest levels of cost-effectiveness and process stability, while taking account of energy efficiency,” said Tomas Rathner, manager, Fill Casting Technology Compe- tence Center. In order to guarantee precise production processes and the highest quality in the casting of cylinder heads and chassis com- ponents, Fill systems focus on the interplay between die move- ment and the filling process. Depending on requirements, all cast- ing machines and metering devices can be designed as single or dual systems. Modular units form the basis for uniform processes throughout the entire production process. Servomotors and a reproducible casting process enable the use of an energy recovery system. All casting axes are equipped with thermal compensation, thereby ensuring the highest levels of metering precision. More than 60 million aluminum castings are produced every
year on low-pressure casting systems in the low pressure caster range. In conjunction with Fill’s automation expertise, state-of- the-art production possibilities for castings have opened up. New developments in the field of low-pressure casting machines for engine components, structural parts and chassis components will continue to guarantee customers a decisive competitive advantage in the future. Te core production process has changed completely in recent
times. Te technology of inorganic core production is taking hold in foundries worldwide and demanding even more power- ful systems. With more than 250 systems sold, Fill is the world leader in decoring technology and it has extensive expertise in this field. Te swingmaster 315 r achieves accelerations of up to 350 m/s2. Upstream and down-stream hammering processes ensure the best possible decoring results and low maintenance costs for both organically and inorganically cast products. Te decoring programs are developed in collaboration with custom- ers in Fill’s state-of-the-art test center. Te test center also offers the opportunity to decore small batches. Tis allows pre-production parts to be desanded on standard
machines before large-scale production begins. Te Fill speedliner 920 m high-performance band saw
reduces the cycle time for machining with its high cutting speeds and feed rates. Te modular design allows simple adaptation to the workpieces to be processed. Depending on requirements, the speedliner 920 m can move and rotate in the X, Y, and Z direc- tions. After the supports have been checked, castings are swung into the working area and fed into the sawing process. Servo- controlled drives are responsible for ultimate sawing precision with an extremely narrow kerf. Fill is an international machine and plant manufacturing
