VTG BUILDS TANK FLEET VTG has invested some €18m in some 1,300 new tank containers since May, the company reports. It bought 1,000 standard units from Singamas and has also taken delivery of a number of specials from South Africa and Belgium. “With this newbuild programme we’re

TRITON/TAL MERGER COMPLETES Triton Container International and TAL International Group finalised their planned merger this past 12 July. Te new company, Triton International Ltd (TIL), now claims to be the world’s largest lessor of intermodal freight containers, with nearly 5m TEU and an estimated global market share of 25 per cent. QUAKER RENEWS WITH DEN HARTOGH Quaker Chemical and Den Hartogh Liquid Logistics have signed a three-year contract extension covering bulk liquid transport in and out of Quaker’s facility in Uithoorn, the Netherlands. “Tis prolonged contract formalises the
