port option will suffice”. Additionally, for permanent charging locations, a moulded wall hanger is available that stores the charger unit internally. “On the low speed setting, the pump/motor
will run for approximately 50 minutes between charges and on the high speed setting, it will run for around 20 minutes,” the company says. “Te S6 Rechargeable Drum Pump Motor will be an ideal option for transferring fluids from drums, barrels and carboys where a power supply is not available, is too distant from the point of pumping or where fluids need transferring in remote, isolated locations.”

perform maintenance and quickly put the coupler back in service.” “Lynx is meant to be a long-term solution at the loading terminal,” Morrow adds. “From extending the life of the wave spring to being able to handle surge pressures up to 500 psi, we engineered Lynx to last a very long time.” As a result, OPW is offering a five-year warranty with each Lynx coupler. It is now taking orders and offers a wide range of sealing options.

SI HI-FI Cryogenic instrumentation specialist Scientific Instruments (SI) has expanded its range of LNG tank management systems with the launch of its most advanced tank-top system, the SI-7000 LTD. Te new unit, the company says, “represents the ultimate solution for tank top level, temperature and density profiling in today’s growing LNG and LPG markets”. Te new third-generation unit, designed
with reliability and low operating costs in mind, has discrete sensors for level, temperature and density measurements in a single probe. Its all-stainless steel construction offers superior durability and corrosion resistance, SI says.

and related equipment with the introduction of the S6 lithium ion cordless rechargeable drum pump motor from Finish Tompson. “Te S6 12-Volt rechargeable two-speed drum pump motor,” MSE explains, “can be used with any of the Finish Tompson EF polypropylene, pure polypropylene/PVDF or stainless steel tube sets. Te result is an extremely versatile and portable option for remote or difficult-to-access drum emptying applications.” “Te cordless design,” it continues, “makes it easy to transfer fluids virtually anywhere, with maximum fade-free performance equivalent to a corded AC powered motor.” What’s more, the “latest lithium ion batteries have a much higher energy density compared to nickel cadmium (NiCd) or nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries” so the pumps “can operate effectively for up to 50 minutes between charges”. Furthermore, lithium ion batteries “have no ‘memory’ effect, which means they can be recharged at any state of their discharge”. Te S6 rechargeable drum pump motor also boasts a solid-state electronic control circuit that “monitors all aspects of the motor and battery pack to ensure reliable operation and long life” while dual cooling fans also help to improve the life and performance of the battery pack. At the same time, “multiple charging options include 115 or 230 volt AC and for mobile applications an automobile or commercial vehicle 12 volt
MINIFLUX GETS CERTIFIED German pump manufacturer Flux reports that its Miniflux intermediate bulk container (IBC) pump has been approved for use in Zone 1 explosive areas. Developed as “an alternative to vertical immersion pumps”, the “extremely compact” Miniflux, the company says, has been “designed for draining IBCs via their floor-level outlet”, something that is a clear boon “when accessing IBCs from above is impossible or very difficult, such as when containers are stacked or ceilings are low”. “In comparison to gravity draining via
the IBC outlet tap, the Miniflux enables a considerably higher delivery rate and delivery head,” the company says, noting that the unit is suitable for media with a viscosity of up to 1 000 mPa. “Depending on the media and motor, either up to 240 litres per minute can be transferred or a delivery head of up to 13 mwc can be achieved. Tis means that the media can be rapidly filled into the container or transported to an elevated container.” Furthermore, the Miniflux’s mechanical seal design separates the media area from the pump drive, meaning that only the shaft “comes into contact with the product in the rotor area”. Measuring 136 mm in length and weighing just 1.2 kg, the Miniflux “is easy to handle” and “requires minimal space”. On top
