LIQUID TIME

SHOW REPORT • THIS YEAR’S ILTA WAS ONE OF THE BIG ONES, WITH PLENTY OF MEAT IN THE CONFERENCE AND REGULAR FOOTFALL AROUND THE SHOW HALL

conference presentations during the ILTA event and also among the vendors who

packed the exhibition hall to showcase their new service and equipment offerings. It was also on display during breakfast on the second day of the event, when ILTA president Melinda Whitney presented Safety Excellence Awards to 19 of the Association’s terminal members, which have all “demonstrated outstanding performance in protecting the safety of their workers”. ILTA’s safety awards have been running for

ten years and this time around 48 companies participated. They supplied self-reported data as required by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), which was collated and analysed by ILTA. All participating companies then receive a data report that can act as a highly informative benchmark against which to plan internal performance improvements. The data is also used by ILTA in its advocacy programme. Five companies were recognised with specific awards. Marathon Petroleum received the Safety Milestone Award,
