manager at Indian Oil, will use the conference to explore recent advances in storage tank sealing systems and environmental control. As always, tank integrity continues to play an important role within the bulk liquid sector. Alan Munn, senior engineer at MMI Engineering, will outline ten ways in which tank integrity is compromised and explain how to prevent these turning into major incidents. Following the same theme, Jonas Berge, director of applied technology at Emerson Process Management Asia Pacific, will detail how to modernise old tank farms to conform to current requirements and regulations. Looking to the future will be Antonio Della

Pelle, managing director at Enerdata, who will take a look at the next 25 years, giving a forecast of primary energy demand and an analysis of the key new energy and storage requirements.

AROUND THE HALLS While the chat is going on in the conference room, many visitors will want to spend time taking a look at the stands in the exhibition hall. At the time of writing at least 75 companies and organisations are lined up to be exhibiting and many have new products and services to announce. Nick Powell says: “We are thrilled to

welcome so many big name exhibitors to the show this year. The floorplan is now 93 per cent full, and has already surpassed the size of last year’s exhibition, plus the showfloor is bursting at the seams with innovation, which is all wonderful news.” For instance, BIOex will be launching

its new formula firefighting foam, Ecopol F3 HC. It is the first fluorine-free 3 per cent foam concentrate for use on hydrocarbon fires and, says BIOex, performs better than any AFFFs, is biodegradable and is exceptionally fast acting. Timm Elektronik will be unveiling its new

loading and unloading of vessels. Developed in collaboration with The Hamburg University of Applied Science, it has a compact design, good visibility of status lamps, both on device and clamp, as well as a multifunctional status display. The Marine Grounding System has EX certification according to ATEX and IECEx standard. Acez, in partnership with Gas Clip

Technologies, will be displaying the new Multi Gas Clip Infrared, a portable gas detector for combustible gases. This can run for two months without needing to be recharged and only requires calibration once a year. Using an advanced low-power infra-red sensor technology ensures protection from toxic gases. It also features an infra-red LEL sensor that is immune to H2

poisoning, plus it does not require oxygen to detect gas accurately. RPR Technologies will be showcasing

its latest Induction Disbonder, which offers a unique and fast induction system for the removal of most types of coatings on steel. RPR says it is up to three times faster than sand or water blasting in stripping thick coatings from storage tanks. It works by heating the steel by moving an induction head over the surface, resulting in fast

disbonding of coatings with a thickness up to 20-25 mm. Removal is done by scraping off, with easy bagging for disposal. Loadtec Engineered Systems will present

Loadtec Service, its new servicing company aimed at providing quality lifetime servicing and support for road, sea and marine loading and access equipment. Elsewhere, Zwick will display its range

of valves, including its metal-seated triple offset butterfly valves, check valves, Tri-Block series and its double block and bleed design. Netherlocks Safety Systems have on how its

range of Valve Position Indicators, which offer a highly accurate signal about a valve’s status, helping tank storage operators to ensure a correct line-up of manual valves and avoid erroneous loading/unloading operations, product spills and product contamination. There will be a particular focus at Tank Storage Asia 2016 on its recently launched aluminium coated A-Series, providing a lightweight, cost-effective yet high end solution for non-corrosive environments.HCB
