The equipment has the necessary ATEX approvals and is accepted by the UK Safe Loading Pass Scheme,” the company reports, adding that due to the FloTech range’s “proven track record of performance and reliability” it is now offering an extended five-year warranty on all such products. On top of this, the company can also now provide a nationwide onsite tanker product support service that, among other things, includes the ready supply of spare parts; product training and demonstrations; and BLVR diagnostics.
HOSES AND NOZZLES Another exhibitor that undertakes a lot of onsite visits was UK hose manufacturer Kiowa, which until August last year traded under the name Parkland Engineering and which continues to offer a broad range of hose inspection services, including visual, hydrostatic, nitrogen, vacuum, internal and electrical continuity testing. What’s more, in addition to boasting a full range of rubber and composite hoses for
numerous chemical, petrochemical, food and agricultural applications, the company has now further bolstered its product portfolio with the addition of Handle-Tech safety handles. Designed for the manual handling of hoses, these units are made from long glass nylon and, the company says, “offer a high level of durability, impact and wear resistance and thermal insulation properties”. As such, they are “ideal for applications where contact with contaminated materials needs to be avoided and where the safe and efficient handling and manoeuvring of hose assembles is desired”. Equipped with a side handle grip that can be mounted either side of the main handle, these ergonomically designed units can be quickly adjusted to fit a variety of hoses with diameters of up to 6” (152.4 mm). But it wasn’t just Kiowa that had hoses on display in Liverpool, with plenty more on show at the stands operated by show newcomer Rhinoflex, which describes itself as the “UK’s largest stockist of tanker hoses and fittings”,
and veteran exhibitor Elaflex. “Elaflex hoses are true bore, having a smooth lining giving a high flow rate and low pressure drop [and] featuring the latest technological developments for ohm resistance for use in Ex zones,” the company says, noting that their “extruded construction enables [these] hoses to have a high degree of flexibility and tolerance to vacuum conditions”. As well as the XHD heating oil reeling hose that boasts an optional ‘neon glow in the dark’ stripe, an LPG reeling hose and a UTL AdBlue reeling hose, the company’s stand also featured a number of new nozzles, including the ZVF 50 aviation nozzle; the ZVA AdBlue LV nozzle for cars and light commercial vehicles; and the ZVA 25 and ZVA 32 automatic nozzles.
