Taking pride of place on TEC Industrial’s
stand was the Fuel-TEC II oil reeling hose. Constructed using a PVC and rubber composite mix, this lightweight hose, the company says, offers “superior drag performance” when compared to conventional rubber systems and can thus greatly reduce the likelihood of an operator suffering a back injury. In addition to offering “excellent abrasion resistance”, the new hose also boasts a 10 bar working pressure and a 40 bar rupture pressure. This, TEC says, compares more than favourably to the standard industry working and rupture pressures of 5 bar and 10 bar, respectively.
PUMP IT UP Perhaps unsurprisingly, this year’s FPS Expo also featured a wealth of different pumps, including the new Blackmer TXDI series cargo pump to be found on the Meller Flow Trans stand. Designed for “general petroleum products, including bio-fuels, aviation fuel and ethanol”, the ATEX-compliant TXDI, Meller says, “is manufactured from ductile iron and equipped with FKM seals as standard”. Furthermore, as a result of its in-line suction and discharge ports the pump is “particularly easy to install” and is available in port sizes of 2”, 2.5”, 3” and 4”. Of these, Meller reports, the 3” unit is “most commonly used on
semi-trailer applications [and] can deliver a product flow rate of over 1,000 lpm”. Having recently acquired Packo Pumps
and Fullwood Systems, Verder, on the other hand, has now released a new high- pressure version of its VA25 AODD pump. “The pump features a dual mode operation to switch between high flow/regular pressure and low flow/high pressure modes,” the company says, adding that the pump’s dual operation “makes it ideal for filter presses that require rapid filling and high pressure discharge as the filter screens become clogged”. Meanwhile, European Pump Services (EPS) has unveiled “a new efficient range of positive displacement pumps for fuel terminals” that run to 1,000 lpm and which can be supplied “on a two-to-three weeks lead time” from the placing of an order. “These new pumps, of course, supplement our existing range of centrifugal pumps, ancillaries and service,” EPS says. “We also continue to provide our valued repair or full reconditioning service.” HCB
The next FPS Expo will be held at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool this coming May 10-11, with further details available via the FPS website,
