in the horizontal plane, the LBM800 can be easily moved “from parked to loading position and service vehicles on either side of the loading arm”. At the same time, the unit’s vertical plane swivel “allows users to position the coupler at different heights within 15° above or below the horizontal to cover vehicle adaptors at various heights within a standard API envelope”. Featuring “superior safety” as a result
system provides improved efficiency and productivity on road tankers, guaranteeing that cross-contamination and driver errors are a thing of the past,” MechTronic says. “With a simple user interface, this compact industry first is operated by just three robust buttons; using simple driver navigation prompts and a large LCD display, this compact design can deliver up to 1,300 lpm without the need for a gas separator.” MechTronic also had on show its new
VisiFlow manifold that incorporates multiple sight glasses located on the collector pipe, product return spout and on the API. “The large visual poppet indicator assures the driver that he has the correct compartment open, avoiding the risk of cross-contamination. The integrated manifold sight glass in the collector pipe also makes it clear to see if there is any product left in the manifold and when integrated with OptiMate, the process is fully automated and the risk of cross-contamination is eliminated,” MechTronic asserts. Another new piece of kit the company had
on its stand was the ATEX-approved VisiLevel gauging system (see page 46) “that provides driver safety, product security and delivers quality by the accurate measurement of the

grade and temperature of the individual compartments within the road tanker”. As with the VisiFlow, this new product can also be integrated with OptiMate “to provide automatic product identification”, eliminate driver keying errors and maintain product integrity from loading to the delivery point.
EFFORTLESS LOADING Elsewhere, Liquip was keen to demonstrate the many benefits offered by its state-of-the- art LBM800 loading arm, which, the company says, “provides effortless bottom loading in petrochemical distribution depots through the use of [a] unique velvet touch gas struts counterbalance”. Boasting full 360° rotation
of the unit’s “unique gas strut design”, the LBM800 also boasts “exceptional durability and minimal servicing requirements thanks to the best in class base swivel assembly and overall design”. Furthermore, any unit “can be easily configured for left-hand, right-hand, upward and downward configurations on site” while its “slimline drop leg bracket” reduces overall size while providing easy installation. Indeed, downtime during installation is further reduced by the system’s all flanged design. While Viton GFLT seals come fitted as standard, other seals to suit a range of products can also be supplied on request. In addition to various petroleum and dry bulk
tanker fittings, including adaptors, valves, APIs and nozzles, the Dixon Bayco stand also included items from the company’s FloTech line of sensors, monitors and sockets. “FloTech-branded overfill prevention equipment is compatible with the installed base of gantry mounted rack monitors found throughout the UK and Ireland which conform to EN13922. »
