WHEEL OF FORTUNE DOUBLE DIAMOND 3D BRINGING THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS TO CASINO CUSTOMERS
Never has one product better exemplified the benefits of a merger than IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Double Diamond 3D game. Released at this year’s G2E, it’s sure to be one of the slot stars of the coming year.
Combining the legacies of two gaming giants, it brings the True 3D technology developed on the GTECH side, Spielo and Atronic before that, together with the most successful slot brand of all time; Wheel of Fortune, from the IGT side.
IGT claims it represents the most realistic, glasses-free 3D ever utilised in the gaming industry and it’s easy to see why.
An in-game photo booth feature takes a snap of the
player’s face and superimposes it on one of the reporters
covering all manner of scandals involving celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan.
“Players can even adjust the level of 3D to their own preference,” Joe Moore, Product Manager for IGT explained. Housed on the AXXIS 3D/39 cabinet, the True 3D technology depicts a classic stepper game, utilising iconic Double Diamond symbols with a fourth reel transforming into a bonus reel with 3D cascading coins.
“There’s also a bonus wheel on a 39-inch top LCD monitor with full HD resolution and a Puzzle Bonus

taking the player to a 3D touch version of the well- known Wheel Of Fortune game from the TV game show,” Moore added. “It also boasts the first 3D wide- area progressive in the United States.”
IGT was also adding several new titles to the Company’s legendary Wheel of Fortune slots portfolio. The Wheel of Fortune Gold Spins Double Diamond game debuted on IGT’s new hardware solution, the CrystalWheel Stepper cabinet. The CrystalWheel Stepper cabinet melds the mechanical reels from IGT’s S3000 cabinet with the pristine video presentation of IGT’s CrystalCore cabinet, and is topped with an iconic, physical Wheel of Fortune wheel. IGT will also introduce Wheel of Fortune New Orleans slots. Housed on the CrystalWheel cabinet, this Mardi Gras-inspired game theme transports players to the Big Easy as they vie for the game’s five progressive jackpots.
The True 3D technology meanwhile was also being used on Cash Fever 3D, Plants vs. Zombies 3D Ancient Egypt, Reef of Riches 3D and Return of the Sphinx 3D but it wasn’t the only breakthrough technology on the stand.
The TRUE 3D title, Reef of Riches 3D “features Dynamic Tracking, which interacts with the passing customer, telling them for example to take a seat, and distinguishing them from a player who has already sat down to play. It analyses the movement of the player’s head to engage in the most appropriate way to attract players and encourage play,” added Moore.
IGT was heralding another industry first with some innovative technology on its slot ode to US entertainment news source, TMZ. In TMZ Video Slots, an in-game photo booth feature takes a snap of the player’s face and superimposes it on one of the reporters covering all manner of scandals involving
celebrities such as David Hasselhoff and Lindsey Lohan. Housed in the CrystalCore 42” cabinet, it also uses voice-overs by the show’s executive producer Harvey Levin.
“It’s very much bringing tabloid TV to the slot floor,” Moore explained. “We think it will appeal to a younger demographic and bring a lot of fun to the floor.”
With the popularity of the recent return to the film franchise, IGT was also launching a new version of Jurassic Park video slots, featuring a T-Rex chase bonus whereby players escape the advancing dinosaur by matching symbols as the T-Rex chases the player. “Jurassic Park will be another really powerful game in 2016,” Moore added. “The game boasts superb high- definition video and reels that swell by up to 10 rows high for free spins. The surround sound chair really adds to the excitement.”
IGT was inviting fans of NetFlix to enjoy the launch of two slots games inspired by Orange Is the New Black Slots, developed in conjunction with Lionsgate. On the first day of G2E, IGT also launched Orange Is the New Black on the Company’s social casino, DoubleDown Casino.
“We’re launching the two slot games simultaneously with the debut of the themes on IGT's social gaming mobile and desktop website, DoubleDown Casino. This marks the first time we’ve launched a marquee licensed brand on DoubleDown Casino at the same time we’ve introduced the land-based casino version of the game,” Moore explained.
IGT Senior Vice President and DoubleDown Casino General Manager Joe Sigrist added: “Each of the games captures the essence of this blockbuster series in unique ways that fans will appreciate, and the launch
