ALFASTREET REVEAL ALL THE TRAPPINGS OF SUCCESS Alfastreet’s Albert Radman at G2E


The popularity of Alfastreet’s Royal Derby has caused a wonderful problem for the manufacturer, a long waiting list


Alfastreet premiered its mechanical horse-racing multi-player, Royal Derby, at G2E Las Vegas, most likely causing itself untold production issues. The fact is that even before its US debut, the Royal Derby order book is sold through to April 2016, Alfastreet having seen a 40 per cent increase in business in the last 12 months, with production across the entire product portfolio fully accounted for until February 2016. Alfastreet simply cannot keep up with orders placed by customers for its latest range of products, which also include the phenomenally successful R8 Roulette.


Arriving at G2E Las Vegas having most recently won a


competitive tender to supply a stadium-style multi- player arena at the City of Dreams in Manila, Alfastreet Sales Director, Albert Radman, believes that the US market will take a different tack to Asia. “I don’t believe that stadium gaming will work in the US market,” underlined Mr. Radman. “As experts in stadium gaming, Alfastreet having installed multiple arenas in Asia, I can say that the trials we have undertaken in the US show that smaller units, such as the R8, outperform all other configurations.”


“Stadium gaming looks great, but the American market is not looking for this style of play,” continued Mr. Radman. “Players in the US prefer the R8 and R6 due to the level of privacy and intimacy with the game. The physicality of the 100+ terminal set-up strips away that intimacy and is not popular with US players.”


PATIR DESIGN UNVEILS PLANS TO OPEN AN OFFICE FOR US MARKET


Germany’s Patir Design is to open a new office in the US to offer local service


The G2E Vegas show has been a great place for Patir Design to meet with its international clientele, though as an opportunity to break into the US market, the trade show has provided excellent contacts, but little in the way of commitment. A recent announcement from Patir Design looks to change all that.


The latest range from Germany’s Patir Design, featured at the G2E show in a bronzed patterned, hard-wearing, but luxuriously textured material, will be included in a showroom to be opened in the US as part of Patir’s push into the US market. The

showroom will be part of a new office scheduled to be opened by the end of the year in Las Vegas.


“We are building upon our network of contacts we have established in the US market and creating a support structure dedicated to the US market,” explained Süleyman Yilmaz, at the G2E Vegas exhibition. “The first step is an office facility and small showroom, before we progress to a warehouse for parts and assembly. Patir Design supplies the whole world except for the US market. We have recently signed agreements for new projects in Chile, Colombia, Uruguay and Suriname. We believe this is an important step in completing the circle and adding the US market to those currently enjoying the Patir product line.”


Alfastreet has installed stadium configurations in the US, but has converted each to smaller island units as US players have not warmed to the experience. In Asia, the opposite is true, where players much prefer the banks of terminals arranged in the stadium format. “The Asian market is attracted to the hi-tech,” stated Mr. Radman. “They want the mass market, social- crowd style of gaming and prefer the massive set-ups we have installed with the major casino groups. I believe it is in their DNA to be involved in that form of gaming and, just as at the City of Dreams in Manila, that is the format we supply in Asia. My opinion in the US, however, is that it is optimistic to believe that stadium gaming is the next big thing for this market. Players prefer to be closer to the wheel, they enjoy the privacy, comfort and proximity to the game. I don’t see this changing any time soon.”
