Review G2E VEGAS 2015

Roulette Technology Center has been created with this in mind. Our service center allows operators the peace of mind in knowing that their wheel is always operating at peak efficiency – saving them time, money and unnecessary worry. We want to keep every customer fully operational and generating revenue.”

Services at the RTC include number and pocket repair, electronic repairs, part upgrades, wheel testing, evaluations and more. Through floor-to-ceiling glass walls, visitors to the facility can view the technicians as they work through the various stages of refinishing and testing. This illustrates to customers how each wheel part plays its role before the device is completed for return to the casino.

An intriguing prototype, shown for the first time at G2E to gain feedback from visitors, was a new multi-player island that featured fixed tablets which can be linked to live or RNG tools, and can also be used on a bar-top. The tablets are fixed to the surface as many jurisdictions do not allow the untethering of tablets for betting purposes, having prescribed dedicated gaming zones. The prototype is a great looking workaround that provides the elegant functionality of a tablet, within the constraints of local regulation.

WHEEL-CENTRIC VIEW OF WORLD

The manufacture and sale of roulette wheels is highly regulated, but when the wheel leaves the factory with the TCSJohnHuxley name inscribed upon it, the company can’t control how that wheel is cared for beyond the sale. For operators taking advantage of the RTC service, TCSJohnHuxley will swap out the wheel on the floor, test the wheel, refurbish were necessary and bring the wheel back to peak performance, which means no drop zone bias, giving operators complete visibility of the wheel. And it’s not just a service for its own wheels, TCSJohnHuxley can refurbish the wheels of other manufacturers too.

For complete visibility into wheel data and statistics, the RTC also leverages TCSJohnHuxley’s advanced GFL Optmisation module, which is part of the Gaming Floor Live platform. Drawing on detailed Wheel analysis reports concerning wheel integrity and performance, the RTC is able to provide customers with accurate wheel insight that can be used to improve the device and business. All spin data downloaded from the wheel is encrypted using AES Encrypted files – the same method of encryption used by the US government – and is transferred to an encrypted repository, with limited access rights.

maintenance best practices, ensure that wheel repairs and upgrades are conducted securely and to the highest of standards. Whether a customer requires monthly or weekly wheel maintenance or they’re looking to upgrade or rebuild their existing wheels to match the level of TCSJohnHuxley’s latest product offerings, the RTC uses the most advanced materials and procedures to deliver outstanding performance.

Todd Cravens, TCSJohnHuxley’s CEO of the Americas commented: “Roulette wheels are paramount to a casinos business. Strict regulations are in place regarding the manufacturing of the devices, however, when a wheel is delivered onto a casino floor, it’s possible for any number of staff to come into contact with it and unintentionally alter its performance. The

“We are very passionate about roulette wheels at TCSJohnHuxley,” underlined Mr. Cravens. “There is no regulation as to the maintenance and refurbishment of roulette wheels, but the way a wheel looks is 10 per cent of the refurb process, whereas 90 per cent is focused on the running of the wheel itself.

“We have developed new ways to test wheels and have patents pending for these processes,” described Mr. Cravens. “We measure tolerances using statistical analysis, ensuring integrity of the wheel to the finest tolerances. A roulette wheel is a Random Number Generator, but there are no regulations on the continued maintenance of that RNG. We think there should be regulation in this area and we think we need regulatory standards.”

It takes TCSJohnHuxley around two weeks to complete a refurb, with them keeping an online
