In September, the AGEM Index fell to 183.34, which represents a decline of 7.10 points (-3.7 per cent) compared to August 2015. This period represents the second consecutive monthly decline in value and the fifth monthly decline since the beginning of the year. Compared to a year ago, the AGEM Index fell 4.16 points (-2.2 per cent), representing the fourth year-over-year decline this year.
During September, seven of the 13 global gaming equipment manufacturers reported month-to- month declines in stock price, with four down by more than five percent. Of the five manufacturers that reported monthly gains in stock price, three were up by more than 10 per cent, with two reporting increases of more than 20 per cent. The remaining manufacturer, Galaxy Gaming Inc., reported no change in stock price from August 2015 to September 2015.

MEMBERS NEWS AGEM KEY BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACTIONS:
l The process continues to finalise the technical standards governing variable-payback slots allowing for skill-based gaming and other new features. The Nevada Gaming Control Board convened a meeting on Oct. 9 with the AGEM working group. Following the meeting, an updated draft of the technical standards is being circulated and then a public comment period will ensue before the GCB acts for full adoption.
l Another state considering the variable-payback slots bill that mirrors SB9 from Nevada, is Pennsylvania. The State Legislature has set a hearing date of 19th November to consider HB 1423. In addition, online gaming in Pennsylvania is also being considered again as a way to address state budget issues.
l The Bermuda Casino Gaming Commission is initiating the regulatory oversight process from scratch as it prepares to award up to three casino licenses. The Commission’s Executive Director met with AGEM representatives at G2E to propose working with AGEM on the development of ‘best practices’ regulations that could serve as a unique model of industry cooperation and possibly reduce the regulatory burden on suppliers.
l Following G2E, AGA COO Ron Rosenbaum And Reed Expo SVP Ed Several reported on this year’s expo giving an update to AGEM members on the post show stats. The number of registered buyers was up 7.1% on last year’s figures, as were VIP’s – up 7.3%. Non-buyers were down, 5.1% and overall conference passes were also down 2.2%.
l The AGEM Endorsed Service Provider (ESP) Program is designed to offer member-to-member discounts on goods and services. Recently, two new companies - Gill’s Printing & Color Graphics and James Industry Research Group - have been added to the program. Details of other ESP vendors can be viewed on the AGEM website –

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
l The annual AGEM Cup Golf Tournament And Holiday Reception will be held on 20th November at DragonRidge Country Club, Nevada. Open to all members, the competition will consist of 20 two-person teams fighting for the AGEM Cup. All competitors will be welcome to attend the post-game reception.
