MERKUR SHOWS ITS PROTOTYPE FOR THE FUTURE

The merkurstar cabinet was shown for first time to a global audience at G2E and is set to play a significant role in the company’s future plans to expand its international reach

Merkur Gaming was showing a prototype of its merkurstar cabinet for the first time to a global audience at G2E, whereby merkurstar will play a significant role in the company’s future plans to further expand its presence in international casino markets.

This upright gaming machine stands out visually with its elegant lines and striking light effects around two 24-inch glossy screens. merkurstar was designed and developed with the player in mind and the result is outstanding. The ergonomic assembly of the monitors and the player controls deliver a relaxed gaming experience. Merkur Gaming showed four new games packages in Full HD, each with a total of 10 new game titles, at the G2E show in Las Vegas, all of which are compatible with the merkurstar, Avantgarde SLT and the Evolution SL cabinets.

Charles Hiten, Chief Executive of Merkur Gaming Americas, commented on the success of the presentation: “G2E is the ideal platform for us to test market reaction to our new merkurstar cabinet, as well as an opportunity to strengthen existing business contacts and introduce new friends to our great product range. The keen interest, especially from Latin American visitors, exceeded all of our expectations. We are gratified to have received many positive comments and the excitement around merkurstar was fantastic, and I thank one and all for taking the time to visit our booth.”

The Gauselmann subsidiary GeWeTe was also represented on the Merkur Gaming stand, featuring its highly successful change machine and payment systems portfolio, presenting its Cash-Center, Cash- Center-Compact and Maxi-Bill-Breaker amongst others to the international trade show public.

Ideal change machine solutions include the Cash- Center Compact with coin pay-out for three different coin values and bill pay-out for four different banknotes types. Furthermore, the Cash-Center- Compact offers a barcode scanner and thermal printer. The Cash Center has great in-built change capacity – up to 15,000 coins and 2,700 notes. Moving up a gear, the Mega Cash-Recycler can store 25,000 coins and 8,000 notes.

The Maxi-Bill-Breaker meanwhile offers a capacity of up to 8,000 banknotes. It is very secure – made of 3mm sheet steel housing with a 5-point locking on front door. The card reader offers different use / service levels (player, technician, supervisor) and the printer has an automatic cutter to provide account receipts and statistics print-outs.

Aristidis Tsikouras, Managing Director of GeWeTe, said: “We have been developing and making change machines, payment terminals and bill beakers for over twenty years. GeWeTe has sold over 60,000 change machines worldwide. We are proud to be here at the G2E Las Vegas to support the global casino industry for all its change giving requirements – bills, tickets, cards and coins.”
