ideal range is likely between six and eight for most international locations.

“In terms the game content, operators have the flexibility to equip each machine with almost any collection of KP3 or KP3+ platform games they choose, with hundreds of possible games and thousands of possible combinations,” continues Mr. Walther. “A lot of our customers look at the game themes and game types that historically perform well with their customers and use that as a starting point.”

A SINGLE LIFE FOR ME Single game machines with dedicated cabinets

and custom features present very different footprints on the casino floor to multi-game machines. So what are the advantages or multi- game machines as opposed to single-game devices, what are the disadvantages, and do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

“I think that there are no disadvantages… maybe the only I could find, if any, is that when you make a conversion of one game, how do you

market it, or make the player aware of the new game?” asks Mr. Rivas of AMH Mexico. “On the reverse side, the advantages are a manifold; it makes easier the job of an SPM, also, in my case, my average casino is 200 machines, with smoking ban restrictions of only 30 per cent, so choosing which games to offer in a smoking areas is a little complicated, something that you can tackle with multi-game machines.”

Te answer for Mr. Sober is about balance and harmony on the gaming floor. “Te right mix of single games and multi-games is what I aim for,” he describes. “And I can see big differences in how important multi-games are across our four different casinos here in Sweden. Our smallest site, with 150 slots and mostly regulars, our multi-games have become quite important. Multi-games grant us the opportunity to present a wide variety of games for regular players that visit us often. At our largest site, with 400 slots and a mix of regulars and other type of players, multi-games are less important, but we still need some on our gaming floor.”

Flexibility, not just across locations, but times of the week, is an important factor in the deployment of multi-games for HIT’s Aleksander Skrinjar. “We know that players switch between four and 10 machines in one visit,” reveals Mr. Skrinjar. “Tey like to play on more than one game. With multi-game machines players can stay on the same machine and change only the game. Te second advantage is that you offer to players more/different titles and games. Tis is important especially on the weekends when the casino is full and free machines are limited.”

In terms of the development of multi-game machines as opposed to the creation of single game devices, we wanted to know from Konami how differently they approach the building of single game machines as opposed to a multi- game such as SeleXion. Konami’s Steve Walther explains: “Te most important consideration is likely hardware and processing power. Any multi-game platform needs to have the proper platform to support top-quality game content at optimal speeds. Te button panel is also an
