Reports MULTI-GAME MACHINES

Each and every single game needs to be designed with the same attention and attempting the same level of success as it would be for an individual game. Mixing these games in a multigame makes the combination of titles even more powerful.

screen or even buttons; each and every one of these elements is essential in forming the whole image and thus, has a direct impact on the success of a product.

How do you select the games for inclusion on the multi-game and what do you consider to be the “right” number of offer players?

Kubilay Ozer, Global Sales Director, APEX gaming:Our games have evolved over time and our latest games on the EVO3 platform represent the best ever. Te ‘right’ number often depends on where we are selling our games – but typically we provide 20 games in our selection.

Sebastian Salat, CEO, Zitro: Te number of games in one multigame has to be not too high, ideally five to six games. It is important that the player notices when a new theme is being included. If too many games are listed under the same multigame, refresh games will not be appreciated by the player as it gets lost in the tide of games.

When we select games for a multigame we make sure that we offer differentiated experiences, but within a common criterion, which is that they need to be designed for the same demographic segment of players. It should appeal to a similar type of player, however offering a diverse set of playing experiences.

Athanasios ‘Sakis’ Isaakidis: Chief Executive, International, Merkur Gaming:Tis the ‘art’ (one could alternatively call it the ‘science’) of knowing the preference of players in specific gaming locations. Tat knowledge then transfers directly into the game mix itself. Ideally, such a mix would contain a range of both already proven ‘high attraction’ games alongside new content that we believe will present an attractive option.

Julia Barbakadze, External Relations Coordinator, DLV:All our games are the result of creative inspiration of our game designers. Of course, they have their own vision, and at a certain stage all ideas are discussed at a general meeting where a decision is made as to whether any changes are needed in the game under

development. Tere are several approval stages and as a result we get a product which is sure to be included in a new multigame.

As to the number of games, it is quite hard to say what number would be “right,” they should not be few, but neither should there be too many of them. DLV has settled on 25 games and currently we see no need for adding more games. However, everything changes and so do players; it might be that in a while a wider choice will be required, and we will be prepared for that.

Mike Robinson, International Communications Manager, NOVOMATIC: Game selection is highly dependent on market demographics. Creating the best mix for a particular market depends on player tastes and demands. New mixes are brought to market that co-exist with established mixes, giving more options for operators and wider variety for players. Casinos can position different mixes at certain locations of their gaming floor and on different machines, such as Premium Multi-Game editions for V.I.P. machines, Concurve Editions for curved-screen machines or Jackpot Editions for jackpot games. NOVOMATIC game mixes typically comprise 10- 50 titles, which is also largely dictated by the market.

Tomas Engstberger, Sales Manager, AMATIC: No one can for sure say in advance whether a game is going to be successful or not. Tere are so many games available in the market and so many channels to play the games, when you take the online, mobile and social gaming segments into account. Developing a new game requires not just a new idea, but a flair for creativity. Many hours of development time are required for each individual game. Te costs and risks are high as there is no guarantee for success. At AMATIC Industries, we have great experience in creating exciting games and rightly see ourselves as a pioneer in MULTI GAME. We develop all our games ourselves which are enjoyed by players around the globe.

Ken Bossingham, IGT Senior Vice President Casino Core Product: IGT’s most recent multi- game product introductions, the diversity HD 3, 4, and 5 suites, are each comprised of 12 unique

themes. In addition to the right number of games, the right mix of games is critical to a product’s success. IGT’s multi-game solutions are comprised of a deliberate mix of unique gameplay experiences, encompassing a range of volatility levels, costs to cover, features, and theme designs.

How differently do you approach the creation of single game machines as opposed to a multi game machine?

Julia Barbakadze, External Relations Coordinator, DLV:DLV does not manufacture single game machines. In our view, multigame machines are more advantageous, because the player is given the possibility to choose, while this option is obviously absent in single game machines. Of course, multigames should also be
